The job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the applicant. It is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, tasks and skills required to perform this job.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Coordinating<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and effectively implement trainings, workshops and presentations within LGBTI and faith groups.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the IAM team to ensure quality and dynamic trainings.<\/li>\n<li>Partake in planning, implementing and follow-up of workshops.<\/li>\n<li>Partake in annual strategic planning process in setting annual program\/project goals.<\/li>\n<li>Be able to monitor and evaluate workplan.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain IAM\u2019s individual and collaborative (partners\/stakeholders) relationships in a professional manner.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field.<\/li>\n<li>Attend monthly staff meetings and weekly staff gatherings.<\/li>\n<li>Attend formal monthly review meetings where open and frank discussions occur regarding the employee\u2019s performance, as well as strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Engage in a reflective feedback culture.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Reporting &amp; Planning<\/li>\n<li>Prepare timely event reports.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare timely monthly activity reports.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that senior management is kept fully informed of any programmatic changes in the field.<\/li>\n<li>Experienced in planning and executing workshop\/conference events<\/li>\n<li>Represent IAM at selected networking events and general public.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Academic Qualification<\/p>\n<p>An appropriated academic qualification, preference will be given to a bachelor\u2019s degree in Theology or Religion.<\/p>\n<p>Equivalent experience will be considered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least seven years of experience in design and facilitating workshops\/trainings and group dynamics in diverse contexts.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in project coordination.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in conflict management.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in drafting and implementing budgets.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience in working with the LGBTI individuals.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience in working in SRHR field.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience of working in the Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity Sexual expressions and Sexual Characteristics field.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience of working with faith communities and diversity.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Competencies<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work within a team and independently.<\/li>\n<li>Efficient computer skills, report writing \u2013 Microsoft Word and Excel.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.<\/li>\n<li>Good listening and social skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal and multidisciplinary skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to network and work with diverse cultures, denominations, organizations, interfaith and communities.<\/li>\n<li>Effective at conflict management.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent at planning.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent subject knowledge in areas you facilitate.<\/li>\n<li>Good time management skills.<\/li>\n<li>Creativity in context.<\/li>\n<li>Own vehicle and driver\u2019s license.<\/li>\n<li>Able and willing to travel nationally and internationally<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Personal Qualities<\/li>\n<li>Trustworthy team player.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Passion for the mission of IAM and working with and for sexual minorities within faith communities \u2013 please see IAM\u2019s website\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iam.org.za\/\">www.iam.org.za<\/a>\u00a0.<\/li>\n<li>Unwavering commitment to quality training.<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to build community.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to adapt to different and diverse contexts and to stay \u201ccool\u201d under pressure of gay-bashing and in conflict management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The applicant may be required to perform additional tasks and duties outside of this description, if so required.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must submit a cover letter, explaining why they are suitable for the role.\u00a0 An up to date CV of no more than 5 pages (incl. a recent photograph), proof of Academic Qualification, Identity Document, Valid driver\u2019s licence, as well as 2 recent contactable references must be submitted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The application should be sent to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:ecclesia@iam.org.za\">ecclesia@iam.org.za<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Only short-listed candidates will be contacted by 15 September 2019.
