WWF has 6,500 staff globally working in more than 100 countries and supporting around 1,300 conservation and environmental projects.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Director, Conservation Impact- Africa<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">Nairobi<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Reporting to the Regional Director, Africa, and based in Nairobi, Kenya, the Director, Conservation Impact will be responsible for working with both the Regional Director and Practice Leaders to identify and accelerate the development, design and implementation of the most promising initiatives within Africa that deliver the greatest impact on WWFs Practice Outcomes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other key functions include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working with Practice Leaders, Focal Points and Conservation Directors in Africa to develop a common understanding of regional trends and opportunities and to identify and accelerate the development, design and implementation of high quality initiatives that capitalise on these opportunities and deliver the greatest impact against our Practice Outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring the fulfilment of the organizations mission of \u2018people living in harmony with nature\u2019 by ensuring relevance of our conservation work to people and development in Africa<\/li>\n<li>Acting as a regional accelerator for moving regional ideas and smaller initiatives into bigger, focused, well designed and impactful initiatives that deliver the conservation outcome against WWF Goals and are also appealing to funders.<\/li>\n<li>Prioritizing and aligning institutional partnerships and country strategies based on the pan-Africa conservation strategy as it develops.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:<br \/>\n\u200b<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Post-graduate qualification in Environmental\/Conservation science;<\/li>\n<li>At least 10 years in a senior conservation leadership role;<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working in an international, matrix organisation;<\/li>\n<li>Proven track record of managing internal and external multi-cultural stakeholders to influence and drive change;<\/li>\n<li>Clear evidence of enabling conservation delivery and experience in the region;<\/li>\n<li>Fluent English- any other language\/s of the region an asset.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills and Competencies:<br \/>\n\u200b<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2018Leading through influence\u2019 leadership and management style with focus on creating enabling environment for others;<\/li>\n<li>Proven knowledge and experience of human rights and community based approaches to conservation<\/li>\n<li>Strong ability to bring together and inspire various teams together for impact delivery;<\/li>\n<li>Entrepreneurial approach and eye for spotting innovation;<\/li>\n<li>Superb interpersonal skills which helps connecting people, expertise and hence multiplying conservation impact;<\/li>\n<li>Superlative diplomatic and communication skills to bring teams and stakeholders together;<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates WWF behaviors in way of working:\u00a0Strive for Impact, Listen Deeply, Collaborate Openly, Innovate Fearlessly;<\/li>\n<li>Adheres to WWF\u2019s values, which are:\u00a0Knowledgeable, Optimistic, Determined and Engaging.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you feel that you possess these qualities as well as the skills and experience we are looking for and are interested in exploring this exciting and challenging opportunity we would love to hear from you!<\/p>\n<div class=\"paragraph\">\n<p>Please send your CV, letter of motivation and complete the\u00a0<u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.actionappointments.co.za\/uploads\/1\/5\/3\/7\/15374534\/aa_bio_summary.doc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">AA bio summary form<\/span><\/a><\/u>\u00a0in MS word format to:<strong><a href=\"mailto:lisa@actionappointments.co.za\">lisa@actionappointments.co.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: \u200b<\/strong>Friday 13th September\u00a0 2019<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Founded in 1961, WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) is a non-governmental organization working on issues regarding the conservation, research and restoration of the environment.
