The organisation exists to reduce inequality in South Africa, and its track record of matric results, access to post-school opportunities, and alumni success is proof that positive change is possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Technology assistant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>WC National office<br \/>\n<strong>Remuneration:<\/strong> R12\u00a0814.37<br \/>\n<strong>Employment type:<\/strong> 4 Months Fixed \u2013 Term Contract (Maternity)<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this position is to provide helpdesk support to all IkamvaYouth (IY) staff. He\/she is required to support the Technology Coordinator in the areas of administration and procurement.\u00a0The Technology Assistant reports to the Technology Co-ordinator<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to Department Objectives<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the achievement of department-specific objectives<\/li>\n<li>Work from a branch to promote team cohesiveness and gain a better understanding of context on the ground<\/li>\n<li>IT Support<\/li>\n<li>Provide support to District Managers and teams to ensure optimal usage, care, and management of technology<\/li>\n<li>Attend to IT tickets received<\/li>\n<li>Safeguard software access keys and passwords<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the IY email database<\/li>\n<li>Conduct an upgrade needs analysis on various IY systems<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that equipment that needs upgrading is attended to<\/li>\n<li>Travel to branches and offices to service and equipment<\/li>\n<li>Arrange and book training on behalf of the Technology Coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Provide training to all IY staff on collaboration software &amp; technology systems (google apps, WebEx, Skype, Dropbox, etc.) as and when required<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all new employees are inducted on IY collaboration software and technology systems<\/li>\n<li>Develop and manage all branch and office audit spreadsheets<\/li>\n<li>Track changes, together with Branch Assistant on audit spreadsheet<\/li>\n<li>In the case of missing or broken assets inform Technology Coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Administration<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all tech assets are insured<\/li>\n<li>Keep a central depository of insured equipment<\/li>\n<li>Complete and submit paperwork to claim from insurance (eg: stolen or broken equipment)<\/li>\n<li>Attend to all queries related to lost and\/or stolen equipment<\/li>\n<li>Provide advise as per disposal policy<\/li>\n<li>Compile and submit pay card report and share with the finance department<\/li>\n<li>Assist in setting up equipment for events (eg. AGM, conferences, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Procurement<\/li>\n<li>Follow the standard finance policy with regards to the procurement of equipment<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that procurement of all IY assets are aligned to the IY procurement policy<\/li>\n<li>Effect procurement of equipment for staff, labs, and offices<\/li>\n<li>Update asset register on Salesforce<\/li>\n<li>Track asset loan agreements on Salesforce<\/li>\n<li>IT Infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that every laptop has antivirus software installed<\/li>\n<li>Carry out regular antivirus checks on all equipment<\/li>\n<li>Administration<\/li>\n<li>Invoice as per schedule on the tracker<\/li>\n<li>Update the Fundraising Coordinator every Friday<\/li>\n<li>Send bank statements every Friday<\/li>\n<li>Update meeting records on a weekly basis<\/li>\n<li>Keep track of action items<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A diploma or certificate in Information Technology<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 1-2 years\u2019 experience in the IT sector<\/li>\n<li>Experience in training on various tech platforms would be advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Patience and ability to train and support colleagues with a wide range of technical competencies<\/li>\n<li>Experience in cloud platforms would advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Performance-Oriented<\/li>\n<li>Proactive<\/li>\n<li>Resourceful<\/li>\n<li>Good written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Adaptable<\/li>\n<li>Attention to Detail<\/li>\n<li>Problem-solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Team player<\/li>\n<li>Ability to take initiative and work independently<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to IY\u2019s five values and redressing inequalities through education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested applicants should submit their Curriculum Vitae and a cover letter via email to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:careers@ikamvayouth.org\">careers@ikamvayouth.org<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0with the subject heading \u201cTechnology Assistant\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Friday, 13 September, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IkamvaYouth is a township-based volunteer programme that gets learners out of poverty through education.
