{"id":49005,"date":"2019-09-11T12:31:32","date_gmt":"2019-09-11T10:31:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=49005"},"modified":"2019-09-10T14:04:56","modified_gmt":"2019-09-10T12:04:56","slug":"the-southern-africa-trust-current-available-job-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/the-southern-africa-trust-current-available-job-opportunity.html","title":{"rendered":"The Southern Africa Trust Current Available Job Opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Southern Africa Trust is an independent regional nonprofit organisation, established in 2005, to support organisations in Southern Africa to participate more effectively in policy dialogue so that policies and strategies across the region work better to end poverty.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:<\/strong> <strong>Communications\/Media, Branding &amp; Marketing, Policy Research; and Programme Management departments<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Johannesburg<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Internship Programme is not to lead to further employment with the trust but to complement studies, skills and experience. There should therefore be no expectation of employment at the end of an internship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communications\/Media\/Branding &amp; Marketing Intern<\/li>\n<li>Qualification in Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Communications.<\/li>\n<li>The intern will be expected to be able to assist with the following:<\/li>\n<li>Writing press releases.<\/li>\n<li>Liaison with local media (newspapers, magazines, radio and television) to gain publicity.<\/li>\n<li>Development of communications materials (eg digital, print)<\/li>\n<li>Brainstorming for articles, radio &amp; television adverts.<\/li>\n<li>Coming up with creative ideas for new media \/ marketing strategies to promote projects and other interventions of the Trust.<\/li>\n<li>Maintenance of social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus etc.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining current databases.<\/li>\n<li>Organise functions and events.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in events.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with other tasks to support the communications work of the Trust in liaison with other communications team members. This will involve some communications administration.<\/li>\n<li>Proof-reading reports, events programmes and marketing material for clarity and accuracy to ensure they meet our high-quality standards.<\/li>\n<li>Policy Research Interns<\/li>\n<li>Qualification:<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Policy Development, International Development, Development Studies or equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>The intern will be expected to assist with the following:<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Policy and Programmes team with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. This may involve review and analysis of local, national regional and international data sources, qualitative research, conducting in-depth interviews and other research methodologies with service users and stakeholders and managing and analysing the research results.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out literature and evidence reviews, including identifying relevant research evidence, appraising the quality of evidence and writing up key findings.<\/li>\n<li>Support to recruitment and administration of external consultants who will be involved in research.<\/li>\n<li>Support to the knowledge management and the knowledge management systems of the Southern Africa Trust.<\/li>\n<li>Support to fundraising and other income generating activities, in collaboration with staff, including contributing to the preparation of research proposals.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in events and events\u2019 preparation<\/li>\n<li>Work as part of the team and actively participate in project meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with other tasks to support the work of the Policy and Programmes team as required. This will involve administration.<\/li>\n<li>Proof-reading reports, events programmes and marketing material for clarity and accuracy to ensure they meet our high-quality standards.<\/li>\n<li>Policy and Programmes Intern<\/li>\n<li>Qualification:<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree Business Administration or equivalent, Policy Development, International Development or equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>The intern will be expected to assist with the following:<\/li>\n<li>Support to the Trust\u2019s Knowledge Hub.<\/li>\n<li>Drafting of Contracts and Terms of Reference.<\/li>\n<li>Draft of Concept notes.<\/li>\n<li>Planning and organisation of special events (for example Women\u2019s Day, Mandela Day).<\/li>\n<li>Assistance to the Executive Director\u2019s office, for example in organising and implementing the Board Meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Travel arrangements.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare payments and reconcile bank statements.<\/li>\n<li>E-filing<\/li>\n<li>Participate in events and events\u2019 preparation<\/li>\n<li>Assist with other tasks to support the work of the Policy and Programmes team as required. This will involve administration.<\/li>\n<li>Proof-reading reports, events programmes and marketing material for clarity and accuracy to ensure they meet our high quality-standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Trust will provide remuneration in the form of a stipend. Costs relating to travel, living and accommodation will however be borne by the Intern.
