Its aim is to empower communities to develop new generations of productive citizens.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Health Care Worker <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> PHUTHADITJABA CENTRE \u2013 ALEXANDRA.<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong> Social Worker<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this posotion is to\u00a0provide health care services and medical testing and screening to the elderly people at the centre.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undertakes basic diagnostic tests such as blood pressure, Glucose test, Cholesterol tests.<\/li>\n<li>Awareness sessions with AT elderly on following topics<\/li>\n<li>PHC such as STI\u2019s, Respiratory infections, wound care etc.<\/li>\n<li>Hypertension<\/li>\n<li>Diabetes<\/li>\n<li>HIV\/AIDS<\/li>\n<li>Medical Male Circumcision) MMC<\/li>\n<li>Participation in health promotion, disease prevention, screening, and chronic disease management &amp; prevention through effective communication and counseling<\/li>\n<li>Encourage those making use of clinic facilities to undergo HIV testing<\/li>\n<li>Work with health promoters and PHC officer in the clinics coordinating national health calendar events.<\/li>\n<li>Submit relevant reports on these statistics as per company procedures<\/li>\n<li>Conduct home visits to all the registered elderly and writing of all the visit and actions taken.<\/li>\n<li>Door to door delivery of nutritious meals in lunchboxes to the homebound<\/li>\n<li>Writing of all the visit and actions taken<\/li>\n<li>Check general wellbeing and encourage clients to adhere to prescribe treatment<\/li>\n<li>To work well with the CBO\u2019S that work with the elderly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matric (Grade 12)<\/li>\n<li>Must have qualified and registered as a Home Based Care Worker.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 3 years working as a health care worker.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to speak other African languages<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested candidates who meet the above criteria are requested to email their CV to at\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:estert@afrikatikkun.org\">estert@afrikatikkun.org<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0or alternatively fax application details to 086\u00a0668 0542.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Friday, 13 September, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Afrika Tikkun is an international nonprofit organisation\u00a0that provides education, health and social services to children, youth and their families through centres of excellence in South African Townships.
