Through a combination of interventions, we on average, assist between 16 000 to 20 000 beneficiaries a year. GBT core focus is to remove the obstacles and barriers that prevent children from finding their light and helping them to Shine.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Acquisition Consultant<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Johannesburg<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong> Market related<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reports to:<\/strong> National Fundraising &amp; RM Manager<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contact prospects and private individuals by telephone with the objective of signing them on as new donors.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver and adjust scripted pitch to meet needs of specific individuals.<\/li>\n<li>Will need to be comfortable calling members of the public and asking for a financial contribution in the form of a Direct Debit Order or donation.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain an effective telephone manner and cold calling technique.<\/li>\n<li>Brand and market the organisation appropriately, including being a strong positive role model.<\/li>\n<li>Obtain donor information including names and addresses<\/li>\n<li>Record, update and maintain donor details on the Database System.<\/li>\n<li>Obtain contact details of potential donors from purchased list and other sources.<\/li>\n<li>Contact leads to follow up on initial interaction.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and donors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of sales and marketing principles and strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Relevant 5 to 7 years work experience in sales, marketing, promotions or telemarketing<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in relevant computer applications<\/li>\n<li>Good Telephonic and e-mail etiquette<\/li>\n<li>Fundraising or a Sales and Marketing Certificate a distinct advantage<\/li>\n<li>Key Skills and Competencies<\/li>\n<li>Bilingualism an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivated and mature.<\/li>\n<li>Abilities to work independently and within a team environment.<\/li>\n<li>Creativity, imagination and an entrepreneurial attitude towards fundraising.<\/li>\n<li>Good communication and interpersonal skills \u00b7 Demonstrate a willingness to learn and update your skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure and maintain efficiencies with attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Must be persuasive, donor focused, assertive and result driven.<\/li>\n<li>Be multifaceted, adaptive and show initiative.<\/li>\n<li>Information gathering and management<\/li>\n<li>Persuasiveness<\/li>\n<li>Adaptability<\/li>\n<li>Initiative<\/li>\n<li>Tenacious<\/li>\n<li>Negotiation skills<\/li>\n<li>Closing Skills<\/li>\n<li>Stress tolerance<\/li>\n<li>High energy levels<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivation<\/li>\n<li>Outgoing and energetic attitude.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0To apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only if you do meet the minimum job requirements and experience as mentioned above, you may submit a detailed updated CV.<\/li>\n<li>Please take note that the applicants who do not adhere to the above criteria will not be considered for the respective position and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit CV and one page motivation letter to <strong><a href=\"mailto:vnaicker@gbtown.org.za\">vnaicker@gbtown.org.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Monday, 23 September, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Established in 1958, Girls and Boys Town (GBT) is a national nonprofit organization that runs proven and successful programmes to strengthen vulnerable youth.
