AKC focuses on providing shelter, care, rehabilitation, and skills development for children and youth, who have been subjected to trauma, abuse, molestation, poverty, HIV\/AIDS and neglect.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Social Worker<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Langlaagte Campus Johannesburg.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to\u00a0provide social services and assistance to improve the social and psychological functioning of children and their families. Provide counselling and therapy to children in order to improve their social circumstances, develop their psychological well-being and emotional stability. Assist in maximizing their academic development<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The management of the treatment plans of each child in a case-load of between 30 and 40 children ;<\/li>\n<li>The implementation of therapeutic and development programmes<\/li>\n<li>The coordination of multi-disciplinary service delivery<\/li>\n<li>The management of permanency plans for the children<\/li>\n<li>Competencies<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing including presentation and report writing<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Strong decision- making skills and the\u00a0 ability to make effective judgements on case files<\/li>\n<li>Resilience- Ability to cope under pressure and to persevere<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Leadership capabilities and excellent managerial skills<\/li>\n<li>Competency in therapy with traumatized children<\/li>\n<li>Ability to continuously\u00a0 develop and learn in the aspects of childcare and therapy<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of the Children\u2019s Act<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in and motivate a team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in social work<\/li>\n<li>Registration with South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP)<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in MS Office<\/li>\n<li>Be able to read, write, speak, English and Afrikaans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Should you meet any of the above requirements\u00a0 please email CV to:\u00a0<strong> <a href=\"mailto:nr@abrahamkriel.org\">nr@abrahamkriel.org<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:mvz@abrahamkriel.org\">mvz@abrahamkriel.org<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Friday, 27 September, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Abraham Kriel Childcare (AKC) is a registered NPO that provides both residential care and community services within Gauteng.
