{"id":49516,"date":"2019-10-10T17:42:40","date_gmt":"2019-10-10T15:42:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=49516"},"modified":"2019-10-10T17:49:20","modified_gmt":"2019-10-10T15:49:20","slug":"miet-africa-recent-available-employment-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/miet-africa-recent-available-employment-opportunity.html","title":{"rendered":"Miet Africa Recent Available Employment Opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MIET AFRICA, an education and development NGO based in Durban.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Communications and Advocacy Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Morningside<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position will be Supporting the Communications and Materials Production Manager, the successful candidate will assist in the implementation and delivery of the communications and advocacy objectives of the organisation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remuneration:<\/strong> Will be negotiated with the successful applicant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conceptualise, develop, write and disseminate messages, information and results (both internal and external) of MIET AFRICA\u2019s work to a variety of audiences (including donors, stakeholders, beneficiaries, government officials, school communities) and through a variety of vehicles and means (including social media, multimedia platforms, website, newsletters, reports and other printed materials)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to conceptualise campaigns and utilise innovative means to do so<\/li>\n<li>Plan and implement all social media activities and calendars as required<\/li>\n<li>Website and social media maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Maintain communications and production filing system: folders and files (electronic and hard copy)<\/li>\n<li>Proofreading and editing as required<\/li>\n<li>Administration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant qualification (Journalism\/ Communications or equivalent)<\/li>\n<li>Minimum three years\u2019 communications\/social media\/content creation experience. (Journalism or PR experience would be an advantage)<\/li>\n<li>Copywriting skills<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional communication and grammar skills, both written and spoken<\/li>\n<li>Experience in managing content across all social networks<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in NGOs (specifically education) and\/or government would be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy: WordPress and Microsoft Office package (including PPT)<\/li>\n<li>Core values: integrity; professionalism; respect for diversity<\/li>\n<li>Core competencies: planning and organization; good written and verbal communication skills to convey messages in a clear, concise and effective manner to different audiences;
