As part of their HIV\/AIDS control efforts, SFH is using social marketing to motivate behaviour change with respect to consistent condom use, HIV testing and other safer behaviours.<strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0<\/strong><strong>VMMC Provincial Lead<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> uMgungundlovu and Harry Gwala KZN<br \/>\n<strong>Department: <\/strong>Medical Programs- VMMC<br \/>\n<strong>Employment status:<\/strong> Fixed Term Contract<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1.\u00a0Theatre Operations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conducts aseptic procedure at the operation site<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Administers local anaesthesia<\/li>\n<li>Performs the surgical cutting of the foreskin using the specific technique\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 according to WHO standards<\/li>\n<li>Uses diathermy or ligation to achieve haemostasis<\/li>\n<li>Performs surgical suture on wounds according to surgical standards<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper application of wound dressing after procedure<\/li>\n<li>Conducts scheduled and unscheduled reviews of circumcised client<\/li>\n<li>Administers post-operative analgesia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2.\u00a0Client medical screening<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Performs physical examinations of client<\/li>\n<li>Obtains an informed consent<\/li>\n<li>Decides if client is eligible for chosen method<\/li>\n<li>Identifies urological deformities and refer for specialist attention<\/li>\n<li>Conducts screening and treatment of STIs<\/li>\n<li>Performs WHO clinical staging on HIV positive clients<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Safety Coordination<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensuring safety of clients before, during and after the circumcision procedure<\/li>\n<li>Ensures a high level of emergency preparedness is in place at workstation<\/li>\n<li>Scrutinizes the client identity against all documents<\/li>\n<li>Uses diathermy properly observing the principles of diathermy use<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that right drug, right route, right dose is given to client<\/li>\n<li>Discards contraindicated conditions prior to procedure<\/li>\n<li>Manages adverse events<\/li>\n<li>Educates all ancillary staff on operational conduct in theatre<\/li>\n<li>Conducts baseline vital observations before procedure and after procedure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4. Adverse Events Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prevent, minimize the occurrence of AEs Managing any adverse events<\/li>\n<li>Classifies any adverse event correctly<\/li>\n<li>Manages AEs according to their classification<\/li>\n<li>Responds to all adverse event calls round the clock in shortest possible time<\/li>\n<li>Manages all adverse events following the adverse event treatment guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Refers to the next level of management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>6. Mobilizing and outreach activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sensitizes the organizations, the public on the VMMC program and integrated services<\/li>\n<li>Plans and implement scheduled VMMC sensitization meetings<\/li>\n<li>Conducts outreach activities targeting workplace, schools, churches, vulnerable population places of social gatherings<\/li>\n<li>Participates in events with other stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Implements, monitor and evaluate the impact of each activity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in MBCHB<\/li>\n<li>Registration with HPCSA<\/li>\n<li>Experience in VMMC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please send your full application to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:recruitment@sfh.co.za\">recruitment@sfh.co.za<\/a><\/strong> .
