These services include public safety, urban management and social development with an additional focus on arts and heritage projects.<\/p>\n<p>OBSID is a Non Profit Company and is funded via an additional property rate charged to all property owners within the boundaries of the SRA. Their\u00a0offices are in St Michael\u2019s Road in Observatory.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Area \/ Precinct Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong>\u00a0CEO<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to take responsibility for delivering and growing a range of programmes in line with strategy and implementation frameworks.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Responsible:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Management and delivery of specific programmes in line with implementation plans &#8211; cleaning, urban management and public safety<\/li>\n<li>Management of outsourced providers in terms of the various contracts and SLA\u2019s in place (public safety, greening, urban management services)<\/li>\n<li>Staff management \u2013 including performance reviews corrective action, identification of training needs etc.<\/li>\n<li>Full programme reporting (monthly reports, implementation plan progress, service provider assessments)<\/li>\n<li>Planning and delivery of special projects for different programmes in conjunction with CEO (including public spaces, arts \/ sports \/ heritage and culture)<\/li>\n<li>Asset management and maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Budget management<\/li>\n<li>Community and stakeholder liaison<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of 10 years relevant work experience, prior experience in urban management \/ law enforcement \/ SAPS, facilities management, CID \/ SRA\u00a0 management preferred<\/li>\n<li>A valid driver\u2019s licence and own vehicle<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills, a network of relevant contacts and the ability to interact effectively with different stakeholder groups in both formal and informal settings<\/li>\n<li>High levels of computer literacy (MS Office suite)<\/li>\n<li>Good people management skills, with experience in managing small teams<\/li>\n<li>An interest in community issues and in understanding how the OBSID can deepen and improve its services within its mandate,\u00a0 as well as an interest in Observatory as a suburb<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and strong reporting skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent planning skills and the ability to adjust plans to deliver against objectives as circumstances dictate<\/li>\n<li>Sound finance management skills<\/li>\n<li>Physically suited to working outside for extended periods of time<\/li>\n<li>Able to work unusual hours, over weekends as necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Should you wish to be considered for this role, please submit your CV to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:amanda@obsid.org.za\">amanda@obsid.org.za<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Wednesday, 30 October, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Observatory Improvement District (OBSID) is an established Special Rating Area (SRA) and provides top up services to the City of Cape Town.
