We provide education, life skills, and psycho-social support programmes for children youth and education providers.<\/p>\n<p>We began in 1994 as a vision sparked between several committed learners at a township high-school and an environmental lawyer, Norton Tennille, who is passionate about education. SAEP\u2019s culture still reflects the early days of the organisation where bright young people were invited into our founders\u2019 home to dream and to learn together.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Business Development &amp; Job Creation Facilitator<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Philippi ECD Centres<br \/>\n<strong>Start Date: <\/strong>(Must be available to start mid-November)<br \/>\n<strong>Employment:<\/strong> Fixed term contract subject to possible renewal<\/p>\n<p>Business Development Facilitator (BDF) The BDF will be responsible for facilitating Business Development and Job Creation at 12 Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centres in Philippi, Cape Town. Key<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing an effective and efficient business model for township ECD Centres<\/li>\n<li>Consultation with stakeholders prior to selection of ECD Centres as beneficiaries of the project<\/li>\n<li>Capacity building of selected ECD Principals and ECD Board members through training for sustainable institutions i.e. governance, financial management and human resources<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate training in business skills, financial sustainability and fundraising for ECD Centres<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring implementation of training<\/li>\n<li>Planning and leading each initiative and working within an implementation plan<\/li>\n<li>Business mentoring and coaching of ECD Principals and Board members<\/li>\n<li>Working towards ECD centre registration with Department of Social Development registration, and compliance with their norms and standards<\/li>\n<li>Managing community expectations and constant engagement with ECD forums as required<\/li>\n<li>Supervision and mentoring of ECD assistants for job readiness<\/li>\n<li>Working closely with the ECD Programme Manager<\/li>\n<li>Preparing regular reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>B degree in Social Science \/ Development Studies\/Business Administration or equivalent qualification<\/li>\n<li>Diploma\/certificate in Project Management<\/li>\n<li>Total of 3-5 years management experience in ECD environment<\/li>\n<li>Proven track record in similar organization an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of ECD landscape i.e. relevant policies and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Preferable experience with ECD centres, service providers and community processes in Philippi<\/li>\n<li>Code B drivers\u2019 license<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in English and isiXhosa<\/li>\n<li>Excellent Communication (written and spoken)<\/li>\n<li>Strategic, Influencing, Negotiating and Presentation skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>To apply<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Please send CV, letter of motivation and contactable referees to Tara Appalraju, ECD Manager<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:tara@saep.org\">tara@saep.org<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> 31st October 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The South African Education and Environment Project (SAEP) is a non-profit organisation, based in Cape Town, South Africa.
