{"id":49827,"date":"2019-10-28T16:06:16","date_gmt":"2019-10-28T14:06:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=49827"},"modified":"2019-10-28T16:06:16","modified_gmt":"2019-10-28T14:06:16","slug":"tb-hiv-investigative-network-think-recent-employment-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/tb-hiv-investigative-network-think-recent-employment-opportunity.html","title":{"rendered":"TB &#038; HIV Investigative Network (THINK) Recent Employment Opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THINK\u00a0is a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by TB and HIV. \u00a0As a health delivery and research organisation, THINK engages with the local community, government consortia, and international funders to provide care for over 100,000 people in KwaZulu-Natal and carry out cutting-edge clinical research that has already contributed to changing treatment guidelines internationally and locally.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Linkage Officers to support the implementation of the THINK USAID project (SIYENZA)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Location: <\/strong>\u00a0uMgungundlovu district, KwaZulu-Natal<br \/>\n<strong>Start date:\u00a0<\/strong>1 February 2020<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project Aim <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The aim of the project is to safeguard advances of TB treatment by strengthening the MDR TB health care platform in the district. \u00a0The Linkage Officers will be based at Doris Goodwin Hospital and report to the THINK District Officer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage and enter data into the THINK online application system to support systematic tracking and monitoring of MDR TB patients in uMgungundlovu District<\/li>\n<li>Daily retrieval and dissemination of NHLS MDR TB results to relevant health care facilities<\/li>\n<li>Tracking of patient management information throughout patient treatment period<\/li>\n<li>Daily communication with hospital staff, health care facilities and THINK programme staff to ensure efficient and timely linkage to care and adherence support is provided to all patients<\/li>\n<li>Develop and support efficient communication systems between the hospital, clinics and outreach teams<\/li>\n<li>Support health care facilities and outreach teams to ensure contact tracing is being implemented<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen linkage to care for patients between the DOH Hospital, clinics and outreach teams.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and support the implementation of the Enhanced Adherence intervention<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matric with tertiary qualification in health care activities or enrolled nursing certificate<\/li>\n<li>Strong IT skills with knowledge of MS Office software packages<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of TB and DR TB<\/li>\n<li>Experience in community health programmes and working with DOH health care facilities<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders and clients<\/li>\n<li>Good verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Valid Code 08 Drivers licence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment soonest.
