The aim of the project is to safeguard advances of TB treatment by strengthening the MDR TB health care platform in the district. \u00a0The Adherence Counsellors will be based at Doris Goodwin Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Adherence Counsellor<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> KwaZulu-Natal<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide Enhanced Adherence Counselling to DR patients initiated on DR treatment<\/li>\n<li>Ensure patients are linked to necessary support structures.<\/li>\n<li>Develop individualised Enhanced Adherence plans for DR patients<\/li>\n<li>Assist patients to understand their treatment and its challenges<\/li>\n<li>Prepare clients\/patients to initiate treatment<\/li>\n<li>Provide ongoing support for clients\/patients to adhere to treatment over the long term<\/li>\n<li>Help clients\/patients develop good treatment-taking behaviour<\/li>\n<li>Provide information to the programme Linkage Officers to ensure all information is captured into the THINK on line data application system<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enrolled Nurse with two years\u2019 work experience<\/li>\n<li>HIV and Aids counselling certificates<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of TB and DR TB<\/li>\n<li>Experience as a community health facilitator will be advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Possess good knowledge of HIV\/AIDS prevention, care and treatment<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders and clients<\/li>\n<li>Good verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Valid Code 08 Drivers licence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment soonest.
