Their innovative technology allows teachers to identify which kids are struggling in which subject areas so that they can help those kids can get back on track. They accomplish this by designing amazing digital games \/ assessment tasks that are not only incredibly fun but also psychometrically valid.<\/p>\n<p>The Trackosaurus team works with leading global researchers to design tablet-based assessment tasks that tracks the developmental progress of children aged 5 and 6 years-old. Their app helps preschool teachers, school administrators, and parents identify which young children in a particular classroom are bottlenecked so that the appropriate remediation efforts can take place.<\/p>\n<p>With Trackosaurus, children effectively self-assess through gameplay (which moves schools away from the anachronistic approach of having to rely on pricey, in-person testers for assessment). Trackosaurus\u2019 long-term objective is to develop an assessment tool that cuts across cultures and socio-economic strata although our initial implementation efforts are focused in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Managing Director<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Woodstock, Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Start Date:<\/strong> 1 January 2020 or sooner.<br \/>\n<strong>Remuneration:<\/strong> R456,000 \u2013 R516,000<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to wear the dual hats of Agile Development Lead and Strategic Partnerships Director.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Managing Director will wear two fairly disparate hats within Trackosaurus small but growing team. On the one hand, the MD will assume the role of Agile Development Lead and will help facilitate the team\u2019s digital game production pipeline. Those responsibilities will include:<\/li>\n<li>Both lead and support the Product Owner during regular biweekly Sprint events (e.g., Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, and Retrospective).<\/li>\n<li>Guide the team on how to get the most out of its self-organisation.<\/li>\n<li>Improve transparency and information sharing; facilitate strong communication practices within the office so that constructive problem-solving takes place.<\/li>\n<li>Remove as many impediments to the team\u2019s success as possible.<\/li>\n<li>Design and implement efficient performance management systems and team policies.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the professional development, upskilling, and wellbeing of staff.<\/li>\n<li>Help keep the office an awesome place to work!!<\/li>\n<li>Strategic Partnerships Responsibilities<\/li>\n<li>The MD will also serve as Trackosaurus\u2019 Director of Strategic Partnerships.\u00a0 This will entail managing key partnerships with early childhood education providers from both the public and private sectors.\u00a0 These partners are likely to be located in South Africa, but also potentially in East Africa, the United States, and South Asia.\u00a0 The MD\u2019s partnership-related responsibilities will include:<\/li>\n<li>Provide information on Trackosaurus to prospective partners, including officials from government ministries.<\/li>\n<li>Work with partners to create partnership agreements, implementation plans, and reporting schedules; complete partner reporting requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Design and oversee data management and data sharing guidelines and protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Assemble, manage, and support field teams both inside and outside of South Africa.<\/li>\n<li>Manage any related media coverage.<\/li>\n<li>Help improve the Trackosaurus tool via field observations and behavioural insights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of three years\u2019 work experience, preferably with exposure to the Department of Basic Education in South Africa and\/or provincial education departments; experience managing high-level partnerships.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple and overlapping deadlines with little to no oversight; experience managing remote teams.<\/li>\n<li>Holds a Bachelors degree or higher, preferably in psychology, education, educational psychology, or a relevant field.<\/li>\n<li>Possesses strong people-management and teamwork skills.<\/li>\n<li>Willing and able to learn about early childhood education, formative assessment, and mobile technology for education.<\/li>\n<li>Flexible, creative, proactive problem-solver who is undaunted by the prospect of launching a first-of-its-kind educational technology tool that we plan to scale globally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are passionate about games as well as early childhood education, and are looking for a rewarding, challenging, impactful line of work, then please get in touch with us!<\/p>\n<p>If you feel this position is a good fit for you please submit a cover letter and your CV, with at least two professional references, and \u201cMD\u201d somewhere in the Subject Line to info[at]trackosaurus.education<\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For more about trackosaurus, refer to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/innovationedge.org.za\/project\/trackosaurus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/innovationedge.org.za\/project\/trackosaurus\/<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>Sunday, 10 November, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Trackosaurus is a social enterprise that seeks to help teachers more effectively track the developmental progress of young children.
