{"id":50113,"date":"2019-11-12T17:18:33","date_gmt":"2019-11-12T15:18:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=50113"},"modified":"2019-11-12T18:29:17","modified_gmt":"2019-11-12T16:29:17","slug":"aids-foundation-south-africa-afsa-recent-job-opening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/aids-foundation-south-africa-afsa-recent-job-opening.html","title":{"rendered":"AIDS Foundation South Africa (AFSA) Recent Job Opening"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"paragraph\">\n<p>AIDS Foundation South Africa (AFSA) is a development organization that exists to support local, national and regional efforts to reduce new HIV, STI and TB infections, address the social and structural drivers of HIV, remove the barriers to the realisation of sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and build resilient communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"paragraph\">\n<p><strong>Job Title: Chief Executive Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Durban<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Executive Officer (\u201cCEO\u201d) will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the Foundation\u2019s strategic objectives and plan\/s with the view to fulfilling the Foundation\u2019s purpose and mandate. The CEO\u2019s leadership role also entails being ultimately responsible for all management decisions and for implementing the Foundation\u2019s long- and short-term plans. The CEO acts as a direct liaison between the Board and management of the Foundation and communicates to the Board on behalf of management. The CEO also communicates on behalf of the Foundation to donors, Government authorities, other stakeholders and the public.<strong>Key responsibilities for this position include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensuring the development of AFSA\u2019s strategic plan\/s (every four years), annual plan, operational plan and ensuring monitoring and evaluation tools are in place to achieve AFSA\u2019s strategic objectives and goals<\/li>\n<li>Overseeing the implementation of, and monitor, AFSA\u2019s regulatory compliance with all statutory regulations and codes of good corporate governance<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring AFSA sources a sufficient income to finance programme &amp; overhead costs as well as exploring new funding streams<\/li>\n<li>Developing and\/or overseeing the writing of grant proposals to source funds from donors, including renewal proposals and budgets for existing programs and grants.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring the development of the annual organisational budget is aligned to the strategic objectives<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that program budgets are developed for AFSA\u2019s various programs and grant applications for submission to donors<\/li>\n<li>Supporting strategic risk identification by the Board and assessing the emerging risks of AFSA and ensure that measures are put in place to manage and mitigate risks<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring the effective implementation of programs to achieve program deliverables and targets in accordance with program performance \/ results frameworks<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring AFSA has organisational structure and systems in place to enable the organisation to implement its programs and core business to the required standard<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring stakeholder management strategy and communication strategy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The\u00a0Chief Executive Officer\u00a0must possess and be able to demonstrate:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant Bachelor &amp; Post Graduate Degree (Masters would be an added advantage)<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 10 years senior managerial experience with at least 8 years\u2019 experience in the NGO\/Development; AIDS or Public Health sectors<\/li>\n<li>Experience in developing and writing technical grant proposals; financial management &amp; budgeting; &amp; corporate governance &amp; management essential. In-depth knowledge and understanding of the NPC &amp; NPO regulations and statutory requirements in South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Experience with international funders and reporting requirements.
