It gathers over 150 organisations throughout the region working for human rights and equality for LGBTIQ+ people.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Intern\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Johannesburg<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position\u00a0is a 6-month internship (dependent on funding), the intern will be tasked with providing support to the Programmes and Advocacy and Communications functions and the organization in general.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reports to:<\/strong> Executive Director<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary:<\/strong> Pan Africa ILGA provides basic remuneration commensurate with the level of an internship in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support programme implementation by working with Programmes, Advocacy and Communications, and Logistics and Membership functions and civil society partners on activities and reporting;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to design and implementation of the programme by providing logistical and administrative support for capacity building workshops and events;<\/li>\n<li>Support updating of the social media channels, including compiling, drafting and scheduling content and analytics;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to identifying opportunities for partnership building and resource mobilization;<\/li>\n<li>Support other work of the team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competences:<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates commitment to the Pan Africa ILGA\u2019s core values;<\/li>\n<li>Respects individual, gender and cultural differences in dealing with others;<\/li>\n<li>Treats all people fairly;<\/li>\n<li>Is organized and meets deadlines;<\/li>\n<li>AIs able to perform tasks in a collaborative manner.<\/li>\n<li>Education:<\/li>\n<li>Academic background at school leaving level, with further qualifications and skills development in human rights, development, Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies or related field is an advantage;<\/li>\n<li>Experience:<\/li>\n<li>Experience in drafting advocacy materials and managing of social media and multimedia platforms;<\/li>\n<li>Proficient writing skills, for a range of different audiences;<\/li>\n<li>Analytical in thinking, communicating and research;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of issues related to human rights and inclusion of LGBTI people and other marginalized communities in Africa and globally.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Language:<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in spoken and written English;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please forward a short CV and a motivation letter of no more than one page, to <strong><a href=\"mailto:panafricailga.org@gmail.com\">panafricailga.org@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Tuesday, 17 December, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pan Africa ILGA is the African region of the International Lesbian Gay, Bisexual Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA).
