We have a 10-year track record with over 7,400 graduates from 189 schools.<\/p>\n<p>Learners, with adult support, form teams to tackle the biggest challenges confronting the school such as violence and bullying, sanitation and toilets, sex, drugs and teen pregnancy, discipline, poor academic performance and attendance. Youth leaders make real decisions on resources, strategy and policies, have their voices heard consistently, and become active meaningful contributors to real school issues.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Faculty<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Kwa-Zulu Natal and Free State<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The core purpose of the Leadership Academy Programme is to activate the inherent potential of young people in disadvantaged communities. The Leadership Academy aims to support young people to look beyond these circumstances and seize hold of their own capacity to make a positive difference in their own and in their schools and communities. The role of Faculty is to lead a process of learning for educators and learners, the role requires facilitation of concepts and principles as per the Columba Programme elicitation model using both verbal and non-verbal techniques that are appropriate for the development of participants.\u00a0The bulk of the work takes place in the context of a 6 Day Residential Academy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Performance Areas:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communicating with Principals, Educators and Learners<\/li>\n<li>Stakeholder engagement with the Department of Education, Investors, Government Representatives<\/li>\n<li>Developing and delivering presentations and speeches at a senior level<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating Leadership Academy Programme<\/li>\n<li>Report Writing<\/li>\n<li>Data Capturing<\/li>\n<li>Preparing participants for Residential Academy<\/li>\n<li>Collecting and preparing documentation for Residential Academy<\/li>\n<li>Planning, facilitating and transcribing exit interviews with learner participants<\/li>\n<li>Participating in Residential Academy planning 2 weeks before each Residential Academy<\/li>\n<li>Implementing Monitoring and Evaluation plan with support from Monitoring and Evaluation Team<\/li>\n<li>Contributing to provincial reports for investors indentifying and sharing positive stories and taking photographs of activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Education, Experience and Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be in possession of a Bachelor of Psychology or a Social Sciences Degree, Youth or Community Development Degree<\/li>\n<li>Must have 3 to 5 years\u2019 experience in Youth Development<\/li>\n<li>Driver\u2019s licence essential<\/li>\n<li>Must be willing to travel extensively in South Africa<\/li>\n<li>Willing to be away from home for 2 weeks per month<\/li>\n<li>Experience working for an NGO or NPO will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Must be proficient in MS Office<\/li>\n<li>Excellent report writing skills essential<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>View the full job description and application instructions on the Vacancies page at\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.actionappointments.co.za\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.actionappointments.co.za<\/a><\/strong> and email your application\u00a0\u00a0to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:data@actionappointments.co.za\">data@actionappointments.co.za<\/a>\u00a0Please state clearly which region you are applying for.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>Monday 06<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0January 2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Columba Leadership (columba.org.za) is an NGO that activates youth enterprise and employment by helping young people transcend their personal circumstances and offers meaningful social impact to all investors.
