{"id":50542,"date":"2019-12-10T15:29:26","date_gmt":"2019-12-10T13:29:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=50542"},"modified":"2019-12-10T15:29:26","modified_gmt":"2019-12-10T13:29:26","slug":"women-in-law-in-southern-africa-wlsa-recent-job-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/women-in-law-in-southern-africa-wlsa-recent-job-opportunity.html","title":{"rendered":"Women in Law in Southern Africa (WLSA) Recent Job Opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Women and Law in Southern Africa Research and Education Trust Lesotho (WLSA) is a signatory to landmark agreements with The Lesotho Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Independent Democratic Union of Lesotho (IDUL), United Textile Employees (UNITE) The National Clothing Textile and Allied Workers Union (NACTWU), Nien Hsing, Levis Strauss &amp; Co., The Children\u2019s Place and Kontoor Brands to establish a program to eradicate gender-based violence and harassment in the workplace, which includes education and awareness training, and establishes and independent organization (Workers\u2019 Rights Watch- WRC) to monitor and receive complaints from workers Nien Hsing.<\/p>\n<p>As a part of this program, WLSA will lead gender based violence and harassment (GBVH) and the new Code of Conduct training workshops for Nieng Hsing Management- that is supervisors and managers as well as its employees in collaboration with IDUL, UNITE &amp; NACTWU. (WLSA)-Lesotho is a local NGO registered in 2000 under the Lesotho Society Act, 1967 as part of WLSA regional operating in Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe and Lesotho pursuing women\u2019s human rights in a legal context.<\/p>\n<p>Its mission is to contribute to the socio-economic political and legal advancement of women and children in Lesotho. Since 1989, WLSA has been the anchor and lead organisation in Lesotho on issues of women\u2019s rights, strategic litigation on women\u2019s rights, empowerment of women and gender equality and has also played a key role in mentoring and providing backstopping for other women\u2019s groups in the country as well as government departments.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Trainers\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>South Africa<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelor\u2019s Degree in the social sciences with minimum of 2 years\u2019 experience; 1 of which must be in the field of civil society organisations or related field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fluent in written and spoken English and Sesotho;<\/li>\n<li>Highly disciplined with demonstrated focus on results;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals from different races and backgrounds<\/li>\n<li>Experience in conducting training, advocacy on gender based violence and harassment (GBVH), and related issues;<\/li>\n<li>Good report writing skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead facilitators for supervisors and managers of Nieng Hsing Factories;<\/li>\n<li>Co-facilitates workshops with IDUL, UNITE &amp; NACTWU facilitators on GBVH and the new Code of Conduct for workers at Nien Hsing Factories in Lesotho;<\/li>\n<li>Conducts awareness sensitization and awareness raising dialogues, forums for workers at Nien Hsing Factories in Lesotho<\/li>\n<li>Raise awareness of violations of the Code of Conduct which prohibits GBVH and retaliation for reporting violations of the Code of Conduct from Nien Hsing Factories in Lesotho to Workers Rights Watch and Information Line hosted by FIDA under this program;<\/li>\n<li>Co-facilitates with other IDUL, UNITE &amp; NACTWU Facilitators working under GBVH Program at Nieng Hsing Factories;<\/li>\n<li>Submit reports on all activities assigned or undertaken as required under the GBVH Program at Nieng Hsing Factories in Lesotho;<\/li>\n<li>Reports directly to the WLSA Lead Facilitator on all activities undertaken by her\/him under the GBVH Program at Nieng Hsing Factories in Lesotho;<\/li>\n<li>Lead facilitators report to the coordinator who reports to Worker Rights Watch.<\/li>\n<li>Undertakes any other duties assigned by WLSA Executive Director or an Officer working on her behalf in relation to the GBVH Program at Nieng Hsing Factories in Lesotho.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NB: Include Application Letter, CV, 2 Referees.
