It focuses largely on issues surrounding HIV\/AIDS and has facilitated significant improvements in access to treatment and quality of care throughout Southern Africa.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Community Nurse <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Nyandeni Municipality, Eastern Cape<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remuneration:<\/strong> R190 000 \u2013 R200 000 per annum TCTC, depending on skills and experience.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this position is to\u00a0provide home-based care and support for improving maternal and child health, and in particular, preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV, in the Eastern Cape through the Mentor Mother model.\u00a0The Community Nurse will be expected to live in the area during the week.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee the implementation of the programme on a daily basis, ensuring that it is delivering against the objectives<\/li>\n<li>Conducting daily home visits with Mentor Mothers<\/li>\n<li>Dealing with serious cases referred by Mentor Mothers<\/li>\n<li>Writing referrals for clients to hospitals, clinics, and social services<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating community workshops to raise awareness about breastfeeding, PMTCT, HIV, TB, and other topics as needed<\/li>\n<li>Identify the training needs of Mentor Mothers and conducting trainings<\/li>\n<li>Liaising, and maintaining strong relationships, with clinic managers, hospital staff, community members, and other stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Provide feedback on Mentor Mother performance to the Programme Manager<\/li>\n<li>Mediate conflict between staff when necessary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Qualified staff\/enrolled nurse;<\/li>\n<li>At least 2 years\u2019 experience with outreach work and community-based care;<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of maternal and child health issues;<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing people, with strong interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Physically fit and able to walk long distances (including up hills);<\/li>\n<li>Honest and reliable;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and be self-motivated;<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to live and work in remote and\/or rural areas;<\/li>\n<li>Passion for community development;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent English communication skills;<\/li>\n<li>Must be fluent in isiXhosa;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Passion for outreach and community development work, as well as promoting maternal and child health, is a key requirement for the role.<\/li>\n<li>Desirable:<\/li>\n<li>Computer literate and familiarity with mobile technology (smartphones, apps,\u2026)<\/li>\n<li>Experience working on a mobile health data collection app<\/li>\n<li>A driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Enable Community Nurse is a community-based outreach health worker who is responsible for managing a group of approximately 25 Mentor Mothers (MMs) and supporting the programme with his\/her clinical knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>They will report to the Site Manager.<\/p>\n<p>The role is primarily field-based and involves walking house-to-house through difficult terrain on a daily basis to provide Mentor Mothers with support, supervision, and guidance, as well as identifying serious cases to be referred to local clinics and\/or hospitals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit your CV and motivation letter to <strong><a href=\"mailto:hr@onetoonechildrensfund.org\">hr@onetoonechildrensfund.org<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Friday, 10 January, 2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One to One Africa is an organization that works with vulnerable and traumatised children, helping to transform the lives of those affected by disease, trauma and disability.
