They\u00a0are an independent organisation located at the interface between civil society and academia.<\/p>\n<p>The Communications and Advocacy\u2019 unit at IJR seeks to employ a dynamic individual as the programme intern from January 2020 &#8211; December 2020.\u00a0The Communications and Advocacy objective is to engage all stakeholders in a relevant way that informs, advocates and sets the agenda for justice and reconciliation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Communications Intern<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Employment type:<\/strong> 11-month period<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this position is to assist the Communications and Advocacy team with internal communications, media monitoring, online profiling of the Institute and monitoring and evaluation, as well as ad hoc tasks that may arise, including events management. Ideally, the candidate should have a clear understanding and adherence to communications processes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compile and gather content for the organisational newsletter;<\/li>\n<li>Update and report on IJR \u2018news and events\u2019;<\/li>\n<li>Assist with marketing and branding;<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the development of online campaigns and messages;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct media monitoring and produce media clippings;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct media research and Google analytics;<\/li>\n<li>Assist with website and social media updates;<\/li>\n<li>Assist with media relations;<\/li>\n<li>Assist with adhoc programme filing, scanning and administration tasks;<\/li>\n<li>Assist with event planning and logistics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This internship will expose and train the successful candidate in the following areas, over the 11-month period.
