{"id":50737,"date":"2019-12-20T09:57:24","date_gmt":"2019-12-20T07:57:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=50737"},"modified":"2019-12-19T19:02:53","modified_gmt":"2019-12-19T17:02:53","slug":"true-north-recent-available-employment-vacancy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/true-north-recent-available-employment-vacancy.html","title":{"rendered":"True North Recent Available Employment Vacancy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"rtejustify\">True North is a nonprofit organisation founded in 2007, prompted by the desire to bring meaningful change to vulnerable and underprivileged communities in South Africa through education, research and sharing of technology.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">The organisation\u2019s core focus is to establish places of light, nurture, learning and safety for children aged 0-5 years and to set a new standard for the education, nurture and holistic development of pre-school children and their caregivers by teaching, supporting, equipping and connecting Early Childhood Development\u00a0(ECD) leaders so that all children aged 0-5 years are prepared for their lifelong learning.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Communications Leader<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Start Date:<\/strong> Approximately 1 March 2020<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remuneration:<\/strong> Salary\u00a0scale\u00a0commensurate\u00a0with\u00a0qualifications and\u00a0experience &#8211; R180 000 \u2013 R192 000 p.a. total cost to company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">The pupose of the position is to contribute to the activities of True North and to participate in the improvement of early childhood development within Vrygrond and Overcome Heights, as well as other marginalised communities. An integral part of this position is internal and external communications and marketing\u00a0planning, strategy and execution, budgeting and community relations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">It is important that the Communications Leader is a confident verbal and written communicator who has the ability to integrate seamlessly into the current organizational culture and team.\u00a0As a bonus, the ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of the Early Childhood Development and NPO landscape and will not be intimidated by working in a marginalized community with all its complexities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heart<\/li>\n<li>Live the True North values which are\u00a0God first &#8211; the I AM, Humility, Focus, Learning and Relationships<\/li>\n<li>Engage in the heart of the organisation by participating in the development opportunities offered and always trying to extend compassion and empathy to all stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Have a heart for the community of Vrygrond and Overcome Heights, ECD and social justice<\/li>\n<li>Smart<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the creation and implementation of TN\u00a0internal and external communications plan and processes.<\/li>\n<li>Manage current\u00a0communication channels\u00a0(i.e. social media, website etc) and research and communicate new channels of communication in line with True North strategy<\/li>\n<li>Create\/Edit copy\u00a0in partnership with team and funding relationship managers to\u00a0communicate uniquely designed information to stakeholders** (For example \u2014 Keep track of and help create proposals and reports to stakeholders, project booklet etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Consolidate and update\u00a0TN branding\u00a0and ensure consistency<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate\u00a0design of communications material\u00a0including marketing, advocacy and knowledge share, like the annual report, project handbooks etc. using M &amp; E impact data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree\/Diploma\u00a0(Marketing; Communications; Public Relations) + 2 years\u2019 experience or at least 5 years\u2019 experience in similar role<\/li>\n<li>Excellent and proven writing and editing skills<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Experience planning, managing and executing successful communications, marketing, PR campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience writing content, preferably in the non-profit sector.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of social media dynamics &amp; use for impact communication<\/li>\n<li>Ability and desire to work effectively in a high performing team environment.<\/li>\n<li>Powerful communicator<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Effective team player: Meet deadlines, put out fires, multitask.
