WoMin\u2019s main mission is to support the building of women\u2019s movements to challenge destructive extractivism and propose development alternatives that respond to the majority of African women\u2019s needs<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtecenter\"><strong>Job Title: Deputy Director \u2013 Operations and Organisational Development<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Johannesburg<\/p>\n<p>Reporting to the Director of WoMin, the Deputy Director \u2013 Operations and Organisational Development &#8211; will lead key internal functions of the organisation necessary for externally facing programmes and campaigns to successfully deliver.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principal duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reviewing and updating operational policies, systems and protocols for maximum organisational effectiveness within WoMin\u2019s wider commitment to build as a feminist organisation<\/li>\n<li>Providing oversight and support to reporting systems within agreed M&amp;E framework<\/li>\n<li>Leads on efforts to define organisational capacity needs, organisational structure, and lead on staff recruitment and induction<\/li>\n<li>Giving oversight to and evolving the organisation\u2019s HR policies and systems in ways that align to WoMin\u2019s feminist commitments<\/li>\n<li>Oversee implementation and build supporting systems for Risk and Safety, Self-care, Safeguarding and Partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that the organisation\u2019s technology and infrastructure is adequate to support programme and campaigns work<\/li>\n<li>Administration of the WoMin Alliance Trust, ensuring that the organisation fulfils its founding commitments and meets its accountabilities, and that the Board is able to function effectively<\/li>\n<li>Lead on annual operational planning and budgeting<\/li>\n<li>Oversight of the financial management of the organisation, ensuring that the leadership and board are able to fulfil their duties and accountabilities for financial oversight<\/li>\n<li>The Operations Director will oversee staff working on grants and contracts management, and M&amp;E and should have some basic competencies in these areas to give effective oversight<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Deputy Director: Operations and Organisatonal Development must be a woman activist with:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Honors level degree in relevant field (Development Studies, Social Sciences, International Relations etc.) or equivalent accumulated work experience. Note: WoMin does not privilege degrees over work experience.<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 10 year\u2019s working experience in some or all of the areas of responsibility outlined in the job profile, with great preference for experience gained in the not for profit sector<\/li>\n<li>At least 4 years\u2019 management experience, preferably in the African context<\/li>\n<li>Deep experience in the crafting of organizational policy, systems and procedures that (would) enable an open, participatory, reflective and caring feminist organisation<\/li>\n<li>Proven excellence in human resource management which reflects and supports the organisation\u2019s commitments to Pan Africanism, multi-culturalism and all forms of diversity<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated excellence in multi-tasking, time management, and flexibility<\/li>\n<li>Excellent in project management and logistical operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>WoMin is very committed to recruiting a black African woman with origins in Southern, East, West or Central Africa, and would prioritise this as a criteria in their recruitment process.
