Based in Johannesburg, Nairobi, Senegal, Cameroon or DRC, Greenpeace Africa is seeking to appoint a dynamic, seasoned, highly skilled senior Human Resources professional to the challenging and prestigious position of:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: <span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">Director of People and Culture<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Johannesburg, Nairobi, Senegal, Cameroon or DRC<\/p>\n<p>As the Director of People and Culture the incumbent will be responsible for helping to find, develop, motivate and retain the team at Greenpeace Africa. He\/She will act as a champion for organisational culture and will support the organisation\u2019s executives and team leaders, allowing Greenpeace Africa to develop and grow quickly, creatively, dynamically and effectively.<\/p>\n<p>The Director of People and Culture is also responsible for recognising, creating and implementing plans to promote diversity within the organisation. A significant part of the role is promoting and developing initiatives to enhance employee understanding on inclusion issues, ensuring integrity across all hubs in Greenpeace Africa. This position is a key strategic role within the organisation helping to grow and allowing us to build a unique and strong people-oriented culture at Greenpeace Africa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>As the Director of People and Culture, the incumbent will be responsible for:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensuring Greenpeace has the right people with the right skills, and they are being effectively managed<\/li>\n<li>Influencing HR decisions at all levels, and ensuring their effective implementation<\/li>\n<li>Providing support and structure to organisational learning and development activities<\/li>\n<li>Managing, developing and aligning personnel services to meet organisational needs<\/li>\n<li>Positively influencing and contributing to Greenpeace Africa HR initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that HR strategy and policies are effectively aligned with and contributing to the overall Greenpeace Africa strategy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>The\u00a0Director of People and Culture\u00a0must meet the following criteria<\/u>:<br \/>\n\u200b<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Able to demonstrate a significant level of generalist HR experience at the level of Head of HR, Senior HR Manager, or Senior Business Partner within a fast-paced and flexible organisation<\/li>\n<li>Preferably degree educated and SABPP registered, or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of significant continued personal development in the field of HRM, and application in a work context<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge in Organisational Psychology and change management will be advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Show a high level of personal responsibility and initiative<\/li>\n<li>Works effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment<\/li>\n<li>Proactive and organisation-focused, achieving demonstrable results<\/li>\n<li>Passionate about the contribution of HR to Greenpeace\u2019s impact and effectiveness<\/li>\n<li>Personal belief in, and support for Greenpeace&#8217;s aims<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please send your CV, letter of motivation and complete the\u00a0<u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.actionappointments.co.za\/uploads\/1\/5\/3\/7\/15374534\/aa_bio_summary.doc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">AA bio summary form<\/span><\/a><\/u>\u00a0in MS word format to:<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:tracy@actionappointments.co.za\">tracy@actionappointments.co.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>\u200bMonday 17th February 2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Greenpeace exists because this fragile earth deserves a voice.
