To help address this, we believe the following structural barriers can be addressed in the medium term through a digital platform (<a href=\"https:\/\/jobstarter.co.za\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/jobstarter.co.za\/<\/a>). These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Persistent information asymmetries that prevent young people from navigating their way towards opportunity;<\/li>\n<li>An inability of young people to flag work-readiness competencies without formal qualifications or experience; and<\/li>\n<li>The high cost of work seeking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Targeted at young, engaged NEETS; JobStarter was designed as a low-cost, mobile platform with three core offerings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>easily accessible and well-curated information for young people to take their next steps towards the labour market;<\/li>\n<li>work-readiness focussed e-learning; and<\/li>\n<li>a platform where opportunity providers can find young, local opportunity seekers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: E-Learning Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>South Africa<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop, execute, and evaluate an\u00a0e-learning strategy. The strategy must:<\/li>\n<li>Target young, engaged NEETs;<\/li>\n<li>Outline the optimal e-learning user journey for opportunity seekers; and<\/li>\n<li>Identify and outline modules that can increase the work-readiness of opportunity seekers and\/or improve the probability of them securing opportunities;<\/li>\n<li>Work with industry experts and thought leaders to develop relevant e-learning curricula for modular learning.<\/li>\n<li>Quality checking of content for accuracy and relevance and load it onto the platform.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of all modules; revise and improve modules based on learning from the sector and evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Leverage learnings and insights from the e-Learning strategy to improve the platform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As a minimum requirement, the candidate must have:<\/li>\n<li>a relevant graduate qualification \u2013 such as in the field of curriculum development, skills development, and\/or community development.<\/li>\n<li>Five years of\u00a0relevant\u00a0work experience \u2013 preferably in developing instructional learning for adults. At least two of those years must have been spent leading a project, programme or unit.<\/li>\n<li>Preferably, the candidate:<\/li>\n<li>has experience developing e-learning content;<\/li>\n<li>has the ability to understand and leverage an online platform; and<\/li>\n<li>is fluent in at least two of South Africa\u2019s official languages.<\/li>\n<li>The ideal candidate has the following attributes, they:<\/li>\n<li>have strong analytical abilities and are able to communicate verbally and in writing on complex issues;<\/li>\n<li>consider issues at a strategic level;<\/li>\n<li>are comfortable trouble-shooting challenges and developing solutions based on information;<\/li>\n<li>are excited to understand new theories of learning, methodologies and technologies to optimise e-learning;<\/li>\n<li>invite input across teams and collaborate with other people to execute strategies; and<\/li>\n<li>are able to self-manage within a start-up environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is a 12 month, fixed-term, contract with possibility of renewal. Salary negotiable based on skills and experience.
