In addition, the role will support the management and reporting of the group&#8217;s life insurance and business performance risk profiles, and the further development of the framework for the management of these risks.<br \/>\nAs a member of the Risk Function based in Cape Town, the role will report to the Head &#8211; Risk and Capital Analytics.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities and work outputs<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Management of the quarterly and annual ORSA reporting process to ensure effective and timely delivery of risk reporting to the relevant management and Board committees, including:<\/li>\n<li>Management of stakeholder expectations in respect of ORSA reporting process<br \/>\n-Production of risk and capital reports as required on a range of actuarial and risk-related topics<\/li>\n<li>Drive the development of the group&#8217;s ORSA processes and outputs to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements and deliver value-adding analysis of the risk and capital profile<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the business to embed ORSA outputs in risk and capital management and strategic decision-making<\/li>\n<li>Manage the development and review of the group&#8217;s risk management framework, including the risk strategy, risk taxonomy and risk rating approach<\/li>\n<li>Act as the key process owner for the independent review of the ORSA<\/li>\n<li>Support the development and optimisation of the group&#8217;s risk appetite and stress testing frameworks<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with business to support the reporting and management of the group&#8217;s life insurance and business performance risk profiles, including the development of the group&#8217;s risk appetite and policies for these risks, review of reinsurance arrangements, and development of key risk indicators<\/li>\n<li>Build strong relationships with ORSA stakeholders, including the Group CRO, Head of the Actuarial Function, Risk-type Heads and Business CROs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Competencies required<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good technical knowledge of life assurance valuations and regulatory (SAM) solvency requirements<\/li>\n<li>Be able to build strong relationships with colleagues from across the business, and maintain a deep awareness of the regulatory and commercial environment<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication, presentation and report writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong project and process management skills, and the ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders and senior management.<\/li>\n<li>An attention to detail and a dedication to technical excellence<\/li>\n<li>Able to manage stress and competing demands and deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Strong desire to add value and drive development<\/li>\n<li>Self-starter &#8211; can work independently<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Experience and Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Qualified Actuary: Fellow or Associate (FASSA, AMASSA or equivalent) essential<\/li>\n<li>7-10 years&#8217; relevant work experience in a life company or life assurance consultancy required<\/li>\n<li>Previous SAM or Solvency II, life valuation reporting and\/or technical risk management experience would be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Management experience (project, people and\/or process) would be an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row jobDetail\">\n<div class=\"contentText jsContentText\">\n<p><span class=\"uxBlack\">Desired Skills<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"leftList\">\n<div class=\"contentText jsContentText\">\n<ul>\n<li>SAM<\/li>\n<li>Life Assurance Valuations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rightList\">\n<div class=\"contentText jsContentText\">\n<ul>\n<li>Project and Process management<\/li>\n<li>ORSA reporting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row jobDetail\">\n<div class=\"contentText jsContentText\">\n<p><span class=\"uxBlack\">Desired Work Experience<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"leftList\">\n<div class=\"contentText jsContentText\">\n<ul>\n<li>5 to 10 years Actuarial Management \/ Administration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rightList\">\n<div class=\"contentText jsContentText\">\n<ul>\n<li>2 to 5 years Investments, Insurance &amp; Assurance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row jobDetail\">\n<div class=\"contentText jsContentText\">\n<p><span class=\"uxBlack\">Desired Qualification Accreditation<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"leftList\">\n<div class=\"contentText jsContentText\">\n<ul>\n<li>Honours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row jobDetail\">\n<div class=\"contentText jsContentText\">\n<p><span class=\"uxBlack\">About The Employer<\/span><\/p>\n<p>programme), and our other specialist brands, including Guardrisk and Eris Property Group, the group enables business and people from all walks of life to achieve their financial goals and life aspirations.<\/p>\n<p>We help people grow their savings, protect what matters to them and invest for the future.
