Ideally you also have an interest in health, development and the environment, as you\u2019ll get more out of the job, and they\u00a0will be able to involve you in the information design to a greater extent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Graphic Designer Extraordinaire<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to organised, detail-oriented full time designer to join our team working from our offices in Sea Point. This job involves creating infographics (from scratch or manipulating stock images and icons), creating great look-and-feels and mock-ups (for editorial publication materials), and producing banners \/ flyers \/ reports etc. (for web and print). Although they\u00a0are primarily looking for a graphic designer, our jobs cover a wide range of areas, including a variety of digital work, augmented reality, web development and animation so the ideal candidate would have a wide range of skills and interests.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Qualifications:<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree \/ graphic design certificate \/ equivalent work experience<\/li>\n<li>Strong diverse portfolio of work<\/li>\n<li>Experience:<\/li>\n<li>Minimum three to five years&#8217; work experience<\/li>\n<li>Fine arts background \/ illustration ability (portfolio of drawings \/ illustrations)<\/li>\n<li>Ideally, you have worked in the non-profit world or are otherwise interested in health, environment and development, and in using your powers for good.<\/li>\n<li>Ideally, you have a background \/ interest in the sciences, numbers or statistics, information design and data visualisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are a thinker and a designer \u2013 in some cases, you will be asked to manage a project from conceptualising and developing appropriate look-and-feels to client handover.<\/li>\n<li>Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Word and PowerPoint.<\/li>\n<li>Understands how to move between creative programs<\/li>\n<li>Able to design for print and digital (ideally including experience with XD or Sketch and Invision)<\/li>\n<li>Specific to InDesign: Skilled DTP, including proficiency in creating and working with mastersheets, styles, automated contents pages and footnotes<\/li>\n<li>Able to work from wireframes<\/li>\n<li>Able to source references that are appropriate for the project and vision<\/li>\n<li>Understands how to read and redesign a range of graphs (bars, line, scatter, pie) and flow charts<\/li>\n<li>Capable of working in a team, often under tight deadlines, including with other designers working remotely<\/li>\n<li>Organised \u2013 including in the management of files, version control, etc.<\/li>\n<li>An understanding of modern web principles and user experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience with animation and video editing (Premiere Pro \/ After Effects) is a bonus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you think you\u2019re a good fit for our team, let us know why.
