The client base is particularly focused amongst women living in townships and rural areas of South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Accounting Clerk<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Gugulethu<br \/>\n<strong>Position Type: <\/strong>Contract post<br \/>\n<strong>Remuneration: <\/strong>4 months probationary period<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To manage all aspects of the organization\u2019s finances amongst other things<\/li>\n<li>To manage staff payroll and staff benefits<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with management on a regular basis to provide advice related to all financial aspects of the organisation<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that monthly management accounts are produced regularly<\/li>\n<li>Bring to the attention of management material liabilities including contingent liabilities<\/li>\n<li>Maintain regular monthly finance meetings to review the organisational and project financial status<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of financial statements at quarterly Board of Director meetings<\/li>\n<li>Preparation and presentation of budgets including presentation to the Board of Directors<\/li>\n<li>Preparation for funder and organisational audits<\/li>\n<li>Presentation of management accounts to the Board of Directors at their quarterly meetings<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that financial reports required by funders are prepared and distributed on time<\/li>\n<li>Ensure regular compliance with the requirements both finance related statutes and internal policies and procedures. This will require awareness through reading etc. of legislative and local and international accounting practice developments and changes<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and develop financial policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory changes and evolving organisational requirements<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the organisation\u2019s chart of accounts to facilitate the production of meaningful financial reports for both projects and the organisation as a whole<\/li>\n<li>The maintenance and development of existing and new financial systems<\/li>\n<li>Provide regular feedback, including performance reviews to staff to enable their development within the organisation<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implementation plan for finance department<\/li>\n<li>Submit all the necessary documents and requirements to SARS<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates with, and assists the Auditor during external audits<\/li>\n<li>Assists the administrative and technical assistant in maintaining a quarterly inventory of office equipment, supplies and other office materials<\/li>\n<li>Performs other tasks and functions as and when required by the organization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>COMPETENCY PROFILE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor degree \/ Diploma in accounting<\/li>\n<li>At least three years\u2019 experience working in a financial or bookkeeping position in NGO\u2019s<\/li>\n<li>Strong inter-personal skills to liaise with senior management, funders, auditors etc.<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written<\/li>\n<li>Above average experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Pastel Evolution<\/li>\n<li>A strong sense of responsibility and urgency and the ability to deliver regularly on time<\/li>\n<li>Experience with accounting for foreign currencies<\/li>\n<li>Strong human resource management skills<\/li>\n<li>Must have their own transport<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please submit letter of application, CV and names of two references, indicating the position you are applying for in the subject line, to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:admin@ilithalabantu.org\">admin@ilithalabantu.org<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>28th February 2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ilitha Labantu is a social service and educational organization with a specific focus on addressing violence against women and children and supporting those affected by it.
