The trainer will be expected to travel and spend considerable amount of time in remote locations in the following countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burundi, CAR, Chad, DRC, Ethiopia, Haiti, Iraq, Pakistan, Kenya, Lebanon, Liberia, Malawi, Niger, Sierra Leon, Somalia, Syria, Sudan, Turkey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key duties and responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Support planning, development and implementation of the Concern Worldwide project<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Providing field support<\/li>\n<li>Support on community mobilization activities if requested by the Concern in-country teams<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the development of curriculum and provision of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) material<\/li>\n<li>Training and mentoring<\/li>\n<li>Provision and distribution of project materials<\/li>\n<li>Provide logistical support when hosting and organizing meetings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2.\u00a0Research support &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Support the Senior Trainer and Project Coordinator with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Performing periodic desktop research on different themes and topics assigned by the project coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Provide a summary of key findings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3.\u00a0Conduct trainings for Concern staff and partner organisations on gender norms transformation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the senior trainer and Project Coordinator in the design of the in-country workshops<\/li>\n<li>Compile workshop materials and ensure that all materials and supporting documents, i.e. handouts are in place<\/li>\n<li>Conduct in-country trainings<\/li>\n<li>Write detailed travel reports with recommendations to Concern country offices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4.\u00a0Support project review processes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review and collate of project documents and reports in preparation for project review processes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u200b5.\u00a0Contribute to the drafting of donor reports<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Document experiences and lessons learned from the field and provide summary of key results<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>6. Support to the Regional Programmes Unit activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the development of the MenEngage network within Africa and outside, through creating country-based linkages with Concern Worldwide country-based programmes<\/li>\n<li>Attend Sonke\/MenEngage Africa meetings, where appropriate and requested<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a07.\u00a0Administration<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare payment requisitions and quotations in line with payment policy<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with Finance, Administration and Procurement procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education, experience and competencies\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in gender studies, political science, or another relevant field, or relevant experience<\/li>\n<li>A postgraduate qualification would be advantageous<\/li>\n<li>3-5 years\u2019 work experience in the gender field; with good knowledge of the NGO sector in the African and MENA regions and internationally<\/li>\n<li>The ability to speak and write in English is essential<\/li>\n<li>The ability to speak and write in Arabic, French and other African languages is an added an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with gender transformative work with men and boys, including primary social change strategies, key organisations and networks in the region, key research findings and the associated evidence base for the work an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Experience in training of organisations on gender equality<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with the Western, Southern, Eastern African region and the Middle East and North Africa region, and on policies and programmes relating to gender equality and gender-based violence engaging men and boys an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize time and work effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to pay attention to detail, displays a high level of integrity, able to multi-task and is deadline driven.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent presentation and facilitation skills<\/li>\n<li>Budgeting and financial management skills<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel outside South Africa \u2013 or the country where the applicant is based &#8211; for at least 70% of the time to areas where the project will take place<\/li>\n<li>Strong computer skills especially with MS Word, Excel, and other related packages.<\/li>\n<li>A valid driver\u2019s license is a requirement and essential.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interested applicants should submit their Curriculum Vitae, and a motivation letter detailing experience and contact details of 3 referees and this one page application form<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/genderjustice.org.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Sonke-Employment-Application-Form.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/genderjustice.org.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Sonke-Employment-Application-Form.docx<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>to Sonke\u2019s Human Resource Unit via email to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:hiring@genderjustice.org.za\">hiring@genderjustice.org.za<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Only short-listed candidates will be contacted<\/li>\n<li>For non-South Africans: it is the responsibility of the applicant to proof his\/her permanent residence in South Africa or obtain and produce a work permit from the Department of Home Affairs<\/li>\n<li>Employment will depend on a valid work permit being in place<\/li>\n<li>If you do not hear from us by 31 March 2020, please consider your application unsuccessful.
