The key portfolios of CWBSA are, firstly to develop creative artistic interventions such as interactive performances to shift attitudes and mobilise, as well as provide laughter to\u00a0children and families, and secondly to provide technical assistance and capacity-building in the implementation and scale up of Parenting for Lifelong Health programmes for Children (age 2-9 years old) and Adolescents (age 10-18)\u00a0for partner agencies, to reduce the risk of violence against children and improve child wellbeing in low- and middle-income countries.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Bookkeeper\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Pietermaritzburg<br \/>\n<strong>Start date:\u00a0<\/strong>1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0of April 2020 with a 1-year contract renewable subject to performance and funding<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong> Finance Manager<br \/>\n<strong>Remuneration:<\/strong> Salary is commensurate with experience.<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Part-Time (2 full days a week)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Bookkeeper will support general day-to-day financial operations of the organisation.<\/li>\n<li>The responsibilities of the Bookkeeper include:<\/li>\n<li>Capturing and reconciling financial transactions onto Pastel Accounting Programme.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct monthly and periodic reconciliation of bank accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Issue financial reports on a monthly basis.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.<\/li>\n<li>Support administration through travel bookings, courier services, visa, accommodation and\/or tendering \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 processes.<\/li>\n<li>Provide additional support and provide information to management, Board, auditors as requested by supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diploma in Accountancy or similar qualification preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in finance and business desirable.<\/li>\n<li>Commitment or experience in the non-profit sector.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent presentation and written skills in English.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work both as part of a team and independently using one\u2019s own initiative<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to maintain multiple projects.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent intercultural skills and experience working with diverse cultures both within SA and internationally.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient knowledge and demonstrated skills in Pastel accountancy software and Microsoft Office software.<\/li>\n<li>Right to work in South Africa.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please send an email with the subject entitled \u201cBookkeeper\u201d to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:recruitment@cwbsa.org\">recruitment@cwbsa.org<\/a><\/strong>.
