{"id":53118,"date":"2020-03-16T16:29:25","date_gmt":"2020-03-16T14:29:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=53118"},"modified":"2020-03-16T16:29:25","modified_gmt":"2020-03-16T14:29:25","slug":"hospice-palliative-care-association-of-south-africa-hpca-job-vacancy-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/hospice-palliative-care-association-of-south-africa-hpca-job-vacancy-6.html","title":{"rendered":"Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa (HPCA) Job Vacancy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We aim to promote quality in life, dignity in death and support<br \/>\nin bereavement for all living with a life-threatening illness<br \/>\nby supporting member hospices and partner organisations.<\/p>\n<p>The primary purpose of this position is to provide testing and counselling services and become an integral part of the broader comprehensive care and treatment program in a non-Clinical site and\/or community that links the community into care.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Temp &#8211; Lay Counsellors<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Mpumalanga:\u00a0<\/strong>Nkangala District, Emalahleni, Victor Khanye, Steve Tshwete, Emakhazeni, Dr. JS Moroka &amp; Thembisile Hani Local Municipalities<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Implement Targeted Community HIV Testing Services<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>HIV pre-test, post-test counselling<\/li>\n<li>Adherence counselling<\/li>\n<li>Conduct Index Testing and Mobile testing<\/li>\n<li>Give health education on health-related issues<\/li>\n<li>Give support to both infected and affected clients<\/li>\n<li>Provide education on HIV, TB and STIs prevention strategies<\/li>\n<li>Participate in organizing HIVAIDS awareness events<\/li>\n<li>Promote HIV counselling, testing and condom use<\/li>\n<li>Conduct screening for TB and STIs<\/li>\n<li>Collect data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Implement Active Referral and Linkage to Care\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Refer and link all new HIV, TB, STI cases<\/li>\n<li>Link HIV negative patients to preventative service providers<\/li>\n<li>Trace defaulters and link them back to the mainstream<\/li>\n<li>Collect data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Implement Adherence Support\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Introduce a risk reduction plan for clients in the post-test counselling and the adherence support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE (Minimum requirements)<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matric \/ Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Accredited training certificates:\n<ul>\n<li>Basic HIV information course, Intensive Counselling course and Adherence Counselling course and the ability to Counsel using the ACTS method<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Finger prick certificate<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate in English and one or more South African language(s) commonly spoken in the Sub-District<\/li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of HIV\/AIDS and TB &amp; Supporting people living with HIV<\/li>\n<li>Involvement in some aspect of community work will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Valid EB Driver\u2019s License with clean driving record and no traffic violations<\/li>\n<li>Clear criminal record<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum one to two years\u2019 experience in<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>HIV Counselling, Finger pricking and intensive adherence counselling<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Technical Skill and expertise<\/li>\n<li>Good communication Skills<\/li>\n<li>Customer Service orientation<\/li>\n<li>Detail Orientation<\/li>\n<li>High level of integrity<\/li>\n<li>Team work<\/li>\n<li>Adaptability<\/li>\n<li>Compassion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please submit a detailed CV, covering letter and names of three contactable references including email contact to<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"mailto:hr@hpca.co.za\"><strong>hr@hpca.co.za<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Applications Deadline:<\/strong> Wednesday,\u00a018<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0March 2020.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We aim to promote quality in life, dignity in death and support in bereavement for all living with a life-threatening illness by supporting member hospices and partner organisations.
