They achieve their\u00a0aims through research, advocacy, campaigning, popular education and strategic litigation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Administration &amp; HR Officer\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong> Cape Town office<\/p>\n<p><strong>Employment type:<\/strong> Full time on a 12-month fixed term contract (renewable depending on funding).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Administration:\n<ul>\n<li>Manage staffing hours and leave allocations;<\/li>\n<li>Manage procurement for the organisation and the individual projects;<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with service providers pertaining to organisational services (e.g. Accountant, Auditors, Computer Technician);<\/li>\n<li>Assist project staff with logistics pertaining to MVC activities and events;<\/li>\n<li>Record keeping and digitisation of key documents;<\/li>\n<li>Maintain MVC\u2019s asset register;<\/li>\n<li>Develop policies for the office as and when they become necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with other admin related duties as they arise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>HR:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage all HR requirements at the office;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accurate record keeping of employee information;<\/li>\n<li>Provide guidance on policies and procedures for staff;<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the health and safety of all employees;<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with the Board on HR matters when required;<\/li>\n<li>Guide the Director on matters related to labour law and employment legislation;<\/li>\n<li>Prepare job descriptions and manage advertising for new positions and setting up of interviews;<\/li>\n<li>Other HR duties as they arise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Governance:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that all governance and Board related records are documented and up to date;<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with Board members pertaining to information required by SARS, CIPC and MVC\u2019s donors;<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate logistical requirements for MVC Board meetings;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Must be a South African citizen or permanent resident with a valid working visa with appropriate qualifications in Office Administration and\/or HR.<\/li>\n<li>An ability to work on multiple projects concurrently;<\/li>\n<li>Basic IT skills (Word, Excel) is a minimum requirement but deeper knowledge is an advantage;<\/li>\n<li>Minimum work experience of 2 years;<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience working in an NGO environment is an advantage;<\/li>\n<li>An ability to conduct oneself with discretion and sensitivity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>To apply, Candidates must submit:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>A CV (maximum 3 pages);<\/li>\n<li>A cover letter (maximum 1 page); AND<\/li>\n<li>Current contact details of at least three referees to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:info@myvotecounts.org.za\">info@myvotecounts.org.za<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>Friday, 20 March, 2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My Vote Counts (MVC) is a non-profit that aims to improve the accountability, transparency and inclusiveness in South Africa\u2019s political and electoral systems.
