Job Title: Junior Communications Officer (CS\/JCOX1\/NM)<\/strong> Specification<\/strong> 1.Assist with the coordination of Aurum\u2019s communications activities, including support to public events, visits of senior development partner officials, field visits, workshops, and community activations; Requirements<\/strong>
\nLocation:<\/strong> Parktown, Gauteng, South Africa
\nReference:<\/strong> # CS\/JCOX1\/NM (Parktown)
\nContract Type:<\/strong> Permanent
\nSalary:<\/strong> Market Related<\/p>\n
\nThe junior communication officer will work under the direct supervision of the Communications Specialist, in close collaboration with staff from other divisions.
\nAssist in the positioning of the Aurum Institute as a credible and visible organisation by supporting the implementation of the communications strategy.<\/p>\n
\n2.Support the maintenance of the Aurum website and Aurum social media pages;
\n3.Assist with monthly monitoring of media coverage and generating media monitoring reports
\n4.Develop content for the website, social media and newsletters
\n5.Support the administrative and coordination activities of the Communications Unit
\n6.Prepare briefings, background and support materials and prepare presentations on specific topics as required
\n7.Perform other duties as required.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Diploma\/Degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field or relevant experience
\n\u2022Writing skills in English
\n\u2022Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and knowledge of web design, Social analytical tools, photo\/video editing software, will be an advantage).
\n\u2022Understanding of the usage of social media for non-profit organisations
\n\u2022Ability to work in a team and under pressure and a demonstrated willingness to learn new things.
