It is part of an influential network of strategic grant-making foundations and thought leaders in the field of climate change and development.<\/p>\n<p>This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative, strategic thinker to join a start-up foundation which is the first of its kind on the continent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Senior Partnerships and Grants Manager<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Duration: 12 months with the possibility to extend<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Working closely with the Executive Director, the Senior Partnership and Grants Manager will be responsible for the Africa-wide strategy, ensure programme delivery, support fund raising and lead an effective grant making and administration process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key responsibilities include oversight of the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implementation of the ACF South Africa Programme.<\/li>\n<li>Development of a Pan African strategy and programme delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Design and optimization of the grant management system and processes (with the software developers)<\/li>\n<li>Development of a robust M&amp;E framework<\/li>\n<li>Research\u00a0and identification of funding opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Funder and board reports<\/li>\n<li>Identification and oversight of grantees to deliver the ACF programme strategy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualification and experience requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Post-graduate degree in Business Science, Environmental Studies or Development Studies<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 5 years\u2019 programme and\/or grants management\/Monitoring &amp; Evaluation experience, ideally gained at a foundation or philanthropic organisation<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience of grant-making systems and processes, incl the integration of financial and monitoring tools<\/li>\n<li>Successful track record of creating a \u2018pipeline\u2019 of grantee proposals<\/li>\n<li>Experience in evaluating proposals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competences and personal qualities required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advanced computer literacy<\/li>\n<li>Experience in working with grant-making software e.g. Fluxx, DevMan, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Proposal writing and programme development<\/li>\n<li>Financial acumen and budget management<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to build strong partnerships\/relationships<\/li>\n<li>Able to develop work-flow systems for management, grantmaking, due diligence and M&amp;E<\/li>\n<li>Sound political awareness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ACF are committed to equality and believe in diversity of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin and all the other fascinating characteristics that make us different.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Send your CV to and 1-page motivational letter to <strong><a href=\"mailto:este@africanclimatefoundation.org\">este@africanclimatefoundation.org<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>Sunday, 24 May, 2020<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The African Climate Foundation (The ACF) is a new strategic grant making foundation focused on addressing climate change issues on the African continent.
