This position has become available for a creative and dynamic individual, who has a passion for retail, to join our team at the Starke Ayres Garden Centre in Cape Town (Rosebank).<\/p>\n

The successful candidate will assume full responsibility for the overall functioning and profitability of the Garden Centre Shop & Indoor plants section, by procuring high quality products which are effectively displayed, and providing customers with professional service.<\/p>\n

\nSalary:<\/strong> Market Related<\/p>\n

Specification<\/strong>
\n\u2022Assists with the development of an Annual Sales and Expense Budgets relating to the Shop and Indoor plant sections and monitors the approved budgets on a monthly basis.
\n\u2022Manage overall procurement and sales activities to ensure budgeted growth and gross profit margins are met.
\n\u2022Monitors and controls purchases, quality, pricing, labelling, promotions and displays of all Shop and Indoor plants and products.
\n\u2022Ensures that stock levels are maintained at acceptable levels at all times in line with seasonal requirements
\n\u2022Assists with the planning and implementation of a roster for annual leave, overtime and weekend duties of staff
\n\u2022Ensures that staff maintain a high level of customer service at all times.
\n\u2022Ensures that customers are attended to promptly and professionally, are assisted in a helpful and friendly manner, and that they have access to any advice or information they may require at all times
\n\u2022Procures stock in line with sales history and latest industry trends for Rosebank Shop and Indoor plant sections.
\n\u2022Assumes full responsibility for the Rosebank Garden Centre as Duty Manager over Weekends or Public Holidays when required to do so by the Garden Centre General Manager.
\n\u2022Stands in at Rosebank for the Garden Centre General Manager in his absence when requested to do so<\/p>\n

Requirements<\/strong>
\n\u2022Matric (A tertiary qualification in Retail Business Management ideal)
\n\u2022At least 5 years\u2019 experience in a Retail Management role.
\n\u2022Excellent Computer skills (Excel)<\/p>\n
