ISLA is a feminist and Pan-African organisation that is based on the belief strategic litigation is an immensely strong tool for social change because it helps to reframe the understanding of entitlements before the law. Mindful of the limitations of the law in bringing about social change, we reinforce our work by creating partnerships and strengthening our partners\u2019 capacity to do strategic litigation in order to create an enabling environment for strategic litigation to achieve its intended impact. We use the law to advance sexual rights and sexual orientation (SOGIE), gender identity and expression in particular and women\u2019s human\u2019s rights in domestic courts and regional accountability mechanisms across the continent.<\/p>\n
The Initiative for Strategic Litigation in Africa (ISLA) seeks to appoint an experienced Litigation Coordinator to provide administrative and operations support to the Violence against Women, Sexual Rights and Women Socio Economic Justice thematic areas. To contribute to the development of the collaborations work that supports the Building Partnerships for Social Change unit and the objectives of the Litigating for Social Change unit.<\/p>\n
