The Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) is a non-governmental organisation which envisions societies that are peaceful, equal and free from violence. CSVR aims to understand and prevent violence, heal its effects and build sustainable peace at community, national and regional levels.<\/p>\n

We do this through collaboration with and learning from the lived and diverse experiences of communities affected by violence and conflict to inform innovative interventions, generate knowledge, shape public discourse, influence policy, hold States accountable and promote gender equality, social cohesion and active citizenship.<\/p>\n

Job Title: Senior Advocacy Officer<\/strong>
\nLocation: <\/strong>Johannesburg or Cape Town office.
\nEmployment type:\u00a0<\/strong>One-year contract, renewable dependent on funding.<\/p>\n

The Senior Advocacy Officer will report to the Advocacy Programme Manager and be responsible for implementation of aspects of CSVR\u2019s advocacy strategy at local, national and regional levels through 5 focus areas. Namely: (i) policy making and implementation (ii) capacity building and technical support (iii) raising public awareness (iv) partnerships and network building\/ social mobilisation and (v) facilitating victims\u2019 interaction with human rights mechanisms.\u00a0\u200bThe successful candidate will be part of the CSVR\u2019s Advocacy Team.<\/p>\n
