The organisation uses these reports as an important source of information to fight corruption and hold leaders accountable for their actions.<\/p>\n<p>Corruption Watch exposes corruption through their communications platforms and mobilises the public to take a stand against corruption and the abuse of public funds. Corruption Watch engages in impact litigation, and makes submissions to parliamentary processes and commissions.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Attorney<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Johannesburg<\/p>\n<p><strong>Attorney<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this role is to provide general and legal support to Corruption Watch\u2019s Legal &amp; Investigations team through the execution of various duties, including but not limited to: legal research and drafting, case management, drafting legal submissions, litigation support, other legal interventions, investigations, general administrative work, and assistance with project based deliverables.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key responsibilities for this exciting position include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Case management, legal drafting and strategic litigation thinking<\/li>\n<li>Factual research on specific cases and reports<\/li>\n<li>Legal research and writing, including the drafting of opinion pieces<\/li>\n<li>Assist with legal projects, campaigns workshops and seminars<\/li>\n<li>General administrative assistance to the Legal and Investigations team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The\u00a0Attorney\u00a0must possess and be able to demonstrate:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>LLB degree<\/li>\n<li>Admitted attorney<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of the South African political climate<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of constitutional arrangements<\/li>\n<li>Legal research experience<\/li>\n<li>Detail orientation<\/li>\n<li>Communication skills written and spoken<\/li>\n<li>Stakeholder management skills<\/li>\n<li>Investigation and research aptitude and experience<\/li>\n<li>Anti-corruption and human rights experience<\/li>\n<li>Enthusiasm for CW\u2019s mission and vision<\/li>\n<li>Team player<\/li>\n<li>Accountable and responsible<\/li>\n<li>Self-starter<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal Skills<\/li>\n<li>Emotional intelligence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>View the full job description and application instructions on the Vacancies page at<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.actionappointments.co.za\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.actionappointments.co.za<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and email your application<strong> <a href=\"mailto:melissa@actionappointments.co.za\">melissa@actionappointments.co.za<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline: <\/strong>Wednesday, 24<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0June 2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Corruption Watch is a non-profit organisation launched in January 2012, relying on the public to report corruption to them.
