They view sex work as work and all our direct services are focused on engaging, empowering and linking sex workers to services that will meet their needs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Finance and Operations Officer<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Cape Town (Sisonke Department)<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this position is to be responsible for the processing, capturing and record keeping of financial transactions related to Sisonke within SWEAT. She\/he plays a role in the organisation\u2019s ethical, accountable and cost effective operations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A bachelor degree in Finance or accounting<\/li>\n<li>Other requirements:\n<ul>\n<li>Computer literate in MS Word, Excel and Cloud based systems<\/li>\n<li>Good Administration skills<\/li>\n<li>NGO Sector knowledge<\/li>\n<li>Sex Work Knowledge<\/li>\n<li>Proposal writing knowledge<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in Microsoft Excel<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge in accounting and payroll system software<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Knowledge of budget maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Maintain good filling system<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Able to multi-task<\/li>\n<li>Report-writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Planning and organisational skills<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal skills, including being a team player and be able to work under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Non-judgemental, trustworthy and empathetic personality<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate strong professional attitude and behaviour at all times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Financial Reporting:\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare the Sisonke Monthly File for the Bookkeeper, ensure all documentation is up-to-date and error free<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Sisonke Manager to accurately spend funds to budget, using monthly Variance Reports received from Bookkeeper<\/li>\n<li>Submitting reports for directly donors to Sisonke.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\u200bPayments and Petty Cash:\n<ul>\n<li>Submit for Processing all approved Sisonke payments to Senior Finance Officer<\/li>\n<li>Conduct reconciliations of payments when required\/requested<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all payments are submitted with the prescribed paperwork and authority for the payment is given<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all reconciliations are done within 7 days of advance given.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Enquiries:\n<ul>\n<li>Respond to and document queries from Sisonke debtors\/creditors<\/li>\n<li>Respond to queries from staff members with regard to Sisonke payments and budgets<\/li>\n<li>Respond to queries from the Bookkeeper and Operations and Finance manager with regard to the project<\/li>\n<li>Manage service providers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\u200bProgramme Improvement and Planning:\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in Financial planning meetings<\/li>\n<li>Participate in monitoring the project\u2019s financial management and make recommendations for new systems, approaches and policies<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the Administration Team and Sisonke Management<\/li>\n<li>Assist with planning and payments for annual meetings and events<\/li>\n<li>Ordering of stationery and office equipment, including observing the necessary procurement processes<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with organisation Accountant consultant on organisation budget allocations and queries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Record Keeping:\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain filing system, ensuring that all information relating to financial records, donors, governance and projects are accessible and in order (including electronic copies)<\/li>\n<li>Create and maintain the Project Assets Register<\/li>\n<li>Governance:<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the annual audit, ensuring documentation is made available to auditors<\/li>\n<li>Prepare &amp; present Sisonke finance quarterly report to Board of Directors and attend any queries from the Board<\/li>\n<li>Participate in Finance Team meetings, Sisonke staff meetings, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Attend to such tasks as designated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Fundraising:\n<ul>\n<li>Participate and contribute to proposal contents<\/li>\n<li>Prepare the budgets for new proposals<\/li>\n<li>Sisonke Budgets<\/li>\n<li>Monitor all SISONKE budgets to ensure variances are brought to the attention of the management for all SISONKE funders<\/li>\n<li>Advise SISONKE management on ways to utilize budgets in line with funding agreements<\/li>\n<li>Prepare budget re-allocations as agreed upon by the funder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Site visits and trainings:\n<ul>\n<li>Conducting site visit to ascertain financial needs of provinces<\/li>\n<li>Conduct trainings to provinces in financial requirements and adherence<\/li>\n<li>Monitor assets and conduct asset verification in provinces<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Operations:\n<ul>\n<li>Recommend, plan and implement optimal process, people and system solutions, including automation for efficiency<\/li>\n<li>Oversee and monitor compliance, delegated authority and organisational risk, the annual audit, procurement and exception management.<\/li>\n<li>Manage, support and oversee staff engaged finance, grants, human resources and operations &#8211; including administration, logistics, travel, ICT, office and infrastructure, and procurement.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate through technical advice the extension of services, resources, policies, procedures and processes<\/li>\n<li>Advance technology, systems and processes within the organisation to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness<\/li>\n<li>Support the Operations team in all areas of administration, logistics, staffing, compliance and efficiencies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Key Performance Indicators:\n<ul>\n<li>Queries from the SWEAT Bookkeeper
