We are committed to shifting the narrative on development and finding novel solutions to complex African challenges. It is part of an influential network of strategic grant-making foundations and thought leaders in the field of climate change and development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Working closely with the Executive Director, the Finance Manager is responsible for setting up the finance management function, running the day-to-day financial management and implementing related governance processes at The African Climate Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an energetic, growing team and build a dynamic finance function.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Financial Management <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>South Africa<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full financial management function, incl. governance, tax and compliance<\/li>\n<li>Manage financial and administrative systems (including payroll)<\/li>\n<li>Develop and ensure adherence to financial policies and operating procedures<\/li>\n<li>Transactional processing, accruals, and account reconciliations<\/li>\n<li>Payment processing<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of management reports and quarterly financial reports for Board<\/li>\n<li>Monthly payroll processing and statutory submissions<\/li>\n<li>Budgeting and cash flow forecasts<\/li>\n<li>Manage treasury function and banking administration<\/li>\n<li>Manage contracts with operational service providers<\/li>\n<li>Lead annual financial audit process<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Donor and Grant Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review of grant proposal budgets<\/li>\n<li>Financial due diligence procedures for potential grants<\/li>\n<li>Review of grant agreements for pre-approval<\/li>\n<li>Review of grantee financial reports<\/li>\n<li>Oversight of project financial management and reporting by implementing partners<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of donor financial reports and assistance with narrative reporting<\/li>\n<li>Assist in preparation of investments memos<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualification and experience requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CA (SA)<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years relevant post-qualifying experience<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience gained at a Start-up and\/or Non-Profit beneficial<\/li>\n<li>Some experience or interest in impact investing desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competences and personal qualities required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advanced systems and computer literacy (Excel, Xero and Simple Pay Payroll)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Team player<\/li>\n<li>Strong Interpersonal Skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ACF is committed to equality and believe in diversity of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin and all the other fascinating characteristics that make us different.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start date:<\/strong>\u00a0Immediate<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Duration:<\/strong>\u00a012 months with the possibility to extend<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong>\u00a0Negotiable depending level of experience and qualifications<br \/>\n<strong>Applications:<\/strong>\u00a0 Send your CV to and 1-page motivational letter to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:este@africanclimatefoundation.org\">este@africanclimatefoundation.org<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ACF\u2019s website is currently under construction.
