The Aurum Institute is offering a great opportunity to suitably qualified and experienced staff to contribute towards our mission to improve the health of people and communities through innovation in Health Research and Systems. The following positions have become available in the Public Health Division and you are welcome to apply should you meet the requirements of the post.<\/p>\n

Job Title: Facility Based Counsellor X2<\/strong>
\nLocation:<\/strong> Mooreesburg, Western Cape, South Africa
\nReference:<\/strong> # (PHD\/(2020\/03\/27\/01)(KM) Swartland Sub Distrct \u2013 Moorreesburg Clinic
\nContract Type:<\/strong> Contract
\nSalary:<\/strong> Market Related<\/p>\n

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:<\/strong>
\n\u2022HCT services using ACTS\/PICT model for new clients seeking HIV testing per day
\n\u2022Adherence and follow up counselling
\n\u2022Paediatric\/adolescent\/adult work up and treatment readiness
\n\u2022Intervention with struggling\/defaulting clients
\n\u2022Group facilitation for club activities
\n\u2022Health education and information (group based) on HIV\/STI\/TB and ART related issues in the waiting rooms of the clinics and\/or at community level.<\/p>\n

SKILLS, TECHNICAL. FUNCTION AND BEHAVIOUR REQUIRED:<\/strong>
\n\u2022Ability to function under pressure
\n\u2022Good interpersonal skills
\n\u2022Basic administrative and time management skills
\n\u2022Knowledge of clinic\/facility rules and regulations
\n\u2022Knowledge of the geographical area
\n\u2022Good knowledge of HIV & AIDS\/STI\/TB a well as Treatment Adherence
\n\u2022Knowledge of public health and community resources<\/p>\n

REQUIREMENTS<\/strong>
\n\u2022High school diploma \/ Gr 12 or equivalent
\n\u2022Basic counselling skills certificate (NQF Level 4 or equivalent)<\/p>\n

EXPERIENCE<\/strong>
\n\u2022At least 2 years counselling experience
\n\u2022Previous work experience in counselling is highly advantageous
\n\u2022Proficient in both English & Afrikaans
\n\u2022Proficient in Xhosa or other languages will be an advantage<\/p>\n

Successful candidates will be placed at Moorreesburg Clinic<\/p>\n
