{"id":56213,"date":"2020-08-03T15:47:18","date_gmt":"2020-08-03T13:47:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=56213"},"modified":"2020-08-03T15:47:18","modified_gmt":"2020-08-03T13:47:18","slug":"the-homestead-projects-for-street-children-latest-job-vacancy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/the-homestead-projects-for-street-children-latest-job-vacancy.html","title":{"rendered":"The Homestead Projects for Street Children Latest Job Vacancy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Homestead Projects for Street Children,successfully transitions neglected and traumatised children away from the street, back home or on to successful independent living through a holistic set of prevention, outreach, stabilisation, residential care, and family reunification and youth transition programmes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Social Worker<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Cape Town<br \/>\n<strong>Remuneration:<\/strong> R15\u00a0500 per month (gross), plus provident fund.\u00a0An Annual performance consideration may be paid depending on the performance of the organisation.<br \/>\n<strong>Start date:<\/strong>\u00a0 As soon as possible<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this position is to find a person to be in its Drop-in Centre in Valhalla Park Cape Town. This position is dependent on continued DSD funding.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide daily psychosocial support to the neglected, abused, school dropout, and vulnerable children of Valhalla Park.<\/li>\n<li>Provide social work, school after-care, school attendance, crises and family intervention support services to the children attending the Homestead Drop-in centre.<\/li>\n<li>Do assessments, develop and manage IDP&#8217;s and provide therapeutic services to neglected, abused, school drop-out, street children.<\/li>\n<li>Refer children to statutory services when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Help coordinate and run the daily Drop-in Centre programme, including holiday programmes, parent training, etc<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Afrikaans as a home language and ability and willingness to work in the Valhalla Park community, do Home and school visits, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Drivers licence (a learners licence will not be considered)<\/li>\n<li>Degree in Social Work and valid\/current SACSSP registration<\/li>\n<li>Fluency (written and spoken) in English, as well as Afrikaans as home language.<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy Microsoft (Word, Excel, email, social media and the web)<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to complete a pre-employment Polygraph examination as well as to undergo in-depth reference and character checks.<\/li>\n<li>That your name does not appear on the Child Protection register and there is no reason why you cannot work with children.<\/li>\n<li>Two recent and contactable references, one of which must be work related.<\/li>\n<li>High energy individual, with a drive for detail, reliable, and able to work independently in the field and as part of a highly motivated team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit CV detailing your chronological work experience, two recent and contactable references (one of whom must be a previous employer), a motivation letter, and copy of your SACSSP registration and drivers licence to <strong><a href=\"mailto:julia@thehomestead.org.za\">julia@thehomestead.org.za<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> Friday, 14 August, 2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Homestead Projects for Street Children,successfully transitions neglected and traumatised children away from the street, back home or on to successful independent living through a holistic set of prevention, outreach,&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1353,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[2246],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
