The Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI), Sub-Saharan African Network For TB\/HIV Research Excellence (SANTHE), Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU) and African Mental Health Research Initiative (AMARI) – constituting two Wellcome Trust Africa Asia Programmes and two DELTAS Africa Programmes – have designed a formal Africa Asia Communications Forum (AACF) network \u201cmaintenance\u201d programme that aims to close the gaps between the network\u2019s biennial face-to-face meetings to ensure the smooth running of the network in order to facilitate the consistent upskilling and networking capacity of the AACF.<\/p>\n

Job Title: Communications Assistant<\/strong> <\/p>\n Specification<\/strong> Minimum Qualification<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.Undergraduate degree or three-year diploma in communication, media studies or closely related field Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.A minimum of two years\u2019 experience in a media or communications environment, or in an administrative role. \nThe Communications Administrative Assistant (CAA), under the dedicated guidance of the communication leads at AHRI, SANTHE, MORU and AMARI, would be responsible for setting up a shared network platform (in the form of a dedicated AACF website); updating and developing our database of members to include areas of expertise on which others can draw; setting up and minuting regular online forum meetings; developing and maintaining an internal newsletter; conducting surveys to gather and collate information on best practices; curating a shared graphics and network library; facilitating the creation of a set of tools and SOPs; facilitating the organisation of our biennial meetings; actively seeking out co-funding opportunities; maintaining our existing WhatsApp group; planning and oversight on joint AACF communication campaigns, and generally ensuring consistent and mutually beneficial contact between all members. Furthermore, we have set aside a pool of funds for capacity building\/skills training within our network and the CAA will be expected to help us set up these opportunities and administer them.<\/p>\n
\n2.BSc, BSocSci or BA with a diploma or demonstrated experience in a communications environment.<\/p>\n
