They noticed that students were performing poorly in Mathematics and Physical Science. They gathered committed educators and began planning their\u00a0response.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Student Support Services Coordinator\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Gauteng<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to the Head:<\/strong> Education<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this position\u00a0will be responsible for the full function of providing careepathing services and support to learners in high school, students at tertiary and alumni.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with the development and implementation of the Student support services strategy<\/li>\n<li>Business Development and Stakeholder Engagement and Management:\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain existing and establish new partnerships with organisations\/ universities\/ SETA\u2019s for collaboration in the delivery of career pathing and alumni services<\/li>\n<li>Identify fundraising opportunities and leads<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scope (The way that the position impacts on the organization):<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022 To provide Learning support to students at High school and those at Institutions of Higher Learning (Universities).<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 To deliver a comprehensive range of information, advice and guidance to Learners at High schools and at Tertiary Institutions that promotes wellbeing, safety and academic success.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Psychosocial support to learners and students:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop methodologies for the detection and identification of psychosocial issues<\/li>\n<li>Develop strategies through partnerships and collaborations to address the outcomes from psychosocial assessments conducted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Learner Career Assessment:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Engage identified students in conversation to determine their specific backgrounds and academic aspirations.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate students\u2019 abilities, interests and personalities, aiming to provide regular guidance and support activities.<\/li>\n<li>Contact students to conduct learning preparedness assessments and communicate course information and required course materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Student Support Events:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate all Student Support Events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Student Bursaries:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Guide and Advise learners on University entrance requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Identify Bursary funders for learners.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>University Applications:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist learners with University applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Student Programs:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate Student orientation programs.<\/li>\n<li>Learner and university student support<\/li>\n<li>Maintain an updated database of all university alumni<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Working Alumni:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain, collate data for the Alumni database and produce statistical data<\/li>\n<li>Engage and promote alumni networks via various platforms including social platforms, publication, e-communication and events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Driven and energetic.<\/li>\n<li>Initiating action.<\/li>\n<li>Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.<\/li>\n<li>Cross-cultural\/Diversity management<\/li>\n<li>Impact and influence.<\/li>\n<li>Follow through<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical skills for evaluating student needs.<\/li>\n<li>Counselling expertise.<\/li>\n<li>Intermediate Microsoft Office<\/li>\n<li>Project Management expertise.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of Department of Education laws and by-laws.<\/li>\n<li>Valid Driver\u2019s License (code 8 or 10)<\/li>\n<li>Decision-making skills.<\/li>\n<li>Policy review skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent\u00a0 Interpersonal Relations skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Negotiation skills.<\/li>\n<li>Problem solving skills.<\/li>\n<li>Counselling skills<\/li>\n<li>Good influencing skills.<\/li>\n<li>Leadership skills.<\/li>\n<li>Relationship building and Stakeholder Management skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to compose original correspondence, write reports, have effective interaction with people, and to communicate ideas and receive and process information from others.<\/li>\n<li>Sound written and verbal communications skills<\/li>\n<li>Reliable and flexible individual.<\/li>\n<li>Education and Formal Training\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree\/ 3-year qualification in Communication\/ Social Sciences.
