Job Title: Handyman<\/strong>
\nLocation:<\/strong> Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

Job purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ensure that the house-keeping or general maintenance of the building\/s and other handyman duties are undertaken with respect to Growthpoint\u2019s planned maintenance and emergency work programme.<\/p>\n

Duties and responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022Ensure that compliance is maintained within required building and statutory regulations and Growthpoint standards;
\n\u2022Maintenance of efficient responses\/feedback to complaints\/queries received from tenants;
\n\u2022Carry out general maintenance or housekeeping duties as directed by work instructions;
\n\u2022All administration\/correspondence and follow up functions related to the position.<\/p>\n

Qualifications & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022Basic literacy skills (read and write English);
\n\u2022Matric plus minimum 3 years\u2019 relevant experience OR must have a Handyman Course Certificate plus minimum 1-year experience;
\n\u2022Plumbing maintenance experience is highly preferred
\n\u2022A relevant trade qualification will be advantageous.<\/p>\n

Competencies and Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022Basic knowledge of the methods, material, tools, equipment, safety hazards and the safety precautions used in building management (Appropriate use of tools and experience in using them is necessary)
\n\u2022Painting, tiling, electrical and other general handyman skills
\n\u2022Tenant liaison experience is essential
\n\u2022Driver\u2019s license and own transport (advantageous).<\/p>\n

Working conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022Ability to work after hours and on weekends when required
\n\u2022Must be willing to a hands-on approach \u2013 electrical, plumbing, HVAC installations, fire regulations.<\/p>\n
