The EELC also aims to develop young, skilled attorneys and law graduates in public interest litigation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Two (2) Candidate Attorneys for its\u2019 Bertha Justice Fellowship<\/strong> <b>Location:\u00a0<\/b>Cape Town<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in strategic litigation cases<\/li>\n<li>Research in support of advocacy and litigation activities<\/li>\n<li>Conduct field research in communities<\/li>\n<li>Draft pleadings and legal\u00a0 opinions<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the drafting of research reports<\/li>\n<li>Provide input into draft policies and legislation<\/li>\n<li>Prepare documents for, and appearing in, court<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with clients, counsel and partners<\/li>\n<li>Assist with community engagement programmes<\/li>\n<li>Represent EELC in civil society and public forums<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An LLB degree (completed by January 2021)<\/li>\n<li>A demonstrated interest in human rights work and social\u00a0justice<\/li>\n<li>A strong interest in research as a component of lawyering<\/li>\n<li>Oral and written communication skills in English<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in other\u00a0South African languages will be an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office<\/li>\n<li>Ability to make a two year\u00a0commitment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:info@eelawcentre.org.za\">info@eelawcentre.org.za<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0with the subject \u201cCandidate Attorney 2021 application\u201d:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A covering letter detailing your interest in human rights, social justice, and the work of the EELC, and motivating why you have the necessary motivation, qualifications, skills and experience for this position.
