For over 20 years, we have worked with our partners in government, private industry, civil society and academia towards closing this gap, to provide access to quality health and education for all.<\/p>\n<p>Working between South Africa and the U.S., we catalyze change across sectors, disciplines and borders to improve health and education outcomes in underserved South African communities. Serving as a catalyst and incubator for innovative approaches, South Africa Partners links people, strengthens communities, promotes social justice and fosters leadership in both countries.<\/p>\n<p>The mutually beneficial partnerships we\u2019ve built between South Africa and the United States have unlocked an invaluable exchange of human and financial resources towards common goals. Our current work focuses on three areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Providing care and support to people living with and at risk for HIV, TB, other infectious and Chronic Diseases<\/li>\n<li>Increasing the capacity of health leaders to drive health system transformation<\/li>\n<li>Supporting young children to reach their full potential in life through child development initiatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>South Africa Partners, a non-profit organization, seeks to appoint two NIMART Nurses to be based in the Eastern Cape (East London) and Free State (Bloemfontein) Department of Correctional Services Management Areas to oversee and coordinate clinical activities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Regional NIMART Nurses<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>South Africa<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Role <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Working under the direction of the National Programme Manager (NPM), the NIMART Nurse will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of Regional Clinical Programme activities, including, but not limited to inmate HIV Testing and Counselling, ART &amp; PrEP treatment initiation, treatment adherence, quality improvement, clinical mentorship and training and liaison with DCS Health staff. Close cooperation and collective planning with the SA Partners Prevention team in the Region will be key to the success of this role.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Coordination of HTS activities <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist the NPM with the development, coordination, and implementation of facility interventions as guided by the Regional work plan;<\/li>\n<li>Establish and maintain good working relations with DCS Management Area and Health Department staff, offenders and other Partner NGOs and CBOs for effective implementation of the work plan;<\/li>\n<li>In collaboration with Prevention Regional Coordinators, plan and coordinate the implementation of HTS Programme activities;<\/li>\n<li>Supervise, mentor and support Prevention Support Counsellors (PSCs) on HTS activities;<\/li>\n<li>Represent the organisation and participate in Management Area and Regional Meetings as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Clinical Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement Programme strategies to support the initiation of newly diagnosed inmates onto treatment, including:\n<ul>\n<li>Obtaining medical history and conducting physical examinations;<\/li>\n<li>Performing phlebotomy activities;<\/li>\n<li>Implementing Safe Same Day ART initiations (SSDART) \\ Universal Test and Treat (UTT);<\/li>\n<li>Dispense ARV treatment and other related medication as per assessment and diagnosis;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Identify high risk inmates and initiate on PrEP;<\/li>\n<li>Implement Programme strategies to ensure positive health outcomes through treatment adherence and viral load suppression by:\n<ul>\n<li>Monitoring patients on treatment, monitoring Viral Load, and managing accordingly;<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring ARV Rx adherence and educating on lifestyle modifications,<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring side effects of treatment;<\/li>\n<li>Managing the referral of patients for further investigations (e.g. x-rays, sonars etc.);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Supervision and Mentorship<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Orientate, induct, supervise and mentor PSCs and other Regional staff as needed;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct supervisory and support visits to facilities;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct monthly briefing sessions with the PSCs and other Regional staff as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Quality Assurance\/Quality Improvement &amp; Monitoring and Evaluation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>With support from the NPM, develop, monitor and review Regional Programme performance activities and components using programme dashboards;<\/li>\n<li>Monitor Regional performance against set targets and work with the Training and Quality Improvement (TQI) team to develop improvement plans;<\/li>\n<li>Support the implementation of Clinical Training and Quality Improvement plans at Regional and site level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree or Diploma in Nursing is an essential requirement;<\/li>\n<li>Registration with the South African Nursing Council is an essential requirement;<\/li>\n<li>Must be a NIMART Trained Nurse with a valid Dispensing License;<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years\u2019 experience in the field of HIV and AIDS programming, public health and\/or the NGO sector, ideally in the area of HIV prevention, treatment, care and support in South Africa;<\/li>\n<li>At least 3 years\u2019 experience in ART initiation;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience in working with Key Populations (MSM, Inmates, WSW and PWIDS);<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with DCS and\/or other government agencies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and additional Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of \u00a0USG\/CDC\/USAID funding rules;<\/li>\n<li>Experience working independently and in a team;<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional interpersonal and supervisory skills;
