Along with our services to the youth, communities and diverse industries, False Bay TVET College has strong ties and strategic partnerships with employers, government departments, SETAs, representative industry bodies as well as local and international educational institutions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Open Learning Centre Co-ordinator<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Location:<\/strong>Fish Hoek, Western Cape, South Africa<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Reference:\u00a0<\/strong># DOC01<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Contract Type:<\/strong>Permanent<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Salary:<\/strong> R 257,508.00 &#8211; 303,339.00 Annually<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022Understand general library practices as well as the practices of the Open Learning Centre on campus<br \/>\n\u2022Oversee the library to ensure cleanliness, order, and protection of the library\u2019s resources<br \/>\n\u2022Planning and strategically manage the resources of the library<br \/>\n\u2022Acquisitioning of new materials &#8211; ordering, cataloguing, and organizing resources<br \/>\n\u2022Manage library budget and follow required financial procedures<br \/>\n\u2022Review and evaluate resource material, to appropriately select print, audio-visual, and electronic resources<br \/>\n\u2022Conduct research in both digital and print resources<br \/>\n\u2022Teach research skills and information literacy to students, including use of the electronic database and its functions<br \/>\n\u2022Explain the use of library facilities, resources, equipment, and services, and provide information about library policies<br \/>\n\u2022Strong customer service skills when interacting with patrons, including good listening, speaking and interpersonal skills, and functioning as part of a team<br \/>\n\u2022Respond to requests in person, over the phone, or via email to answer questions and locate information<br \/>\n\u2022Assist patrons with finding reference materials and leisure reading materials<br \/>\n\u2022Manage patron access to resources<br \/>\n\u2022Keep records of circulation and materials<br \/>\n\u2022Arrange Library and reading events to promote reading and promote resources<br \/>\n\u2022Supervise personnel activities and perform training and directing as required<br \/>\n\u2022Oversee Textbook procedure in collaboration with Programme Heads and Financial Procedures Process, Issue, return, withdraw and stock take as required<br \/>\n\u2022Maintain professional development through networking and applicable training\/workshops<br \/>\n\u2022Comply with Health and Safety standards assist with managing Health and Safety on campus<\/p>\n<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022Degree in Information\/Library Science or Post Graduate Diploma in Library Science<br \/>\n\u20222-3 years working experience in a library\/resource centre<br \/>\n\u20222-3 years\u2019 experience in using a Library Management System<br \/>\n\u2022Computer literate<\/p>\n<p><strong>RECOMMENDATIONS<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022Management capabilities to manage staff<br \/>\n\u2022Able to work with Campus Management as a team and collaborate with teaching staff<br \/>\n\u2022Strong organizational skills and attention to detail<br \/>\n\u2022Able to work independently<br \/>\n\u2022Able to keep to due dates and follow procedures<br \/>\n\u2022Abreast of technical and digital developments<br \/>\n\u2022Sound financial record keeping<br \/>\n\u2022Take initiative<br \/>\n\u2022Excellent communication\/interpersonal skills<br \/>\n\u2022Reporting skills<br \/>\n\u2022Drivers licence<\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jb.skillsmapafrica.com\/Account\/Login?ReturnUrl=%2FCandidate%2FFullRegistration%3FJobKey%3D595128b8e0714dd1800f9b126da7e131%26isApplication%3D1&amp;ReturnUrlWithProfile=%2FJob%2FIndex%2F42922%3FAutoApply%3DTrue\"><strong>Click Here!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>04\/10\/2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>False Bay TVET College has six well-resourced campuses in the Cape Peninsula.
