The project was launched in 2019 by USAID\/ Mission in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The USAID TB LON Project is using locally generated solutions to improve TB diagnosis, treatment, and prevention services. The TB LON project is implemented by IRD SA NPC, a South Africa section 21 Not-for profit company.\u00a0 IRD SA is implementing the TB LON Project by delivering a comprehensive package of care services for TB, DR-TB and TB\/HIV in Gauteng, Western Cape, Free State and Limpopo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Position<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will foster close working between technical teams and project outreach personnel ensuring program delivery of outcomes and milestones. The DCOP will be responsible for the day-to-day operations to ensure seamless management of all technical and operational aspects TB LON program. Responsible for high-quality service delivery, outreach and staff capacity building ensuring compliance with USAID policies and procedures. The position will cultivate relationships with the government to advance program objectives to ensure smooth implementation of program activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the development of the Activity\u2019s annual work plans, annual and quarterly reports, and other requests that may come from USAID or DoH.<\/li>\n<li>Manage short- and long-term partner technical assistance (STTA), including the development of their scopes of work (SOWs) and ensuring the final reports are accurate, well-written, and meet expectations.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate development of technical proposals and implementation strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the implementation of the planned community activities.<\/li>\n<li>Provide program implementation reports, identifying bottlenecks and proposing corrective actions.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the monitoring and analysis of field activity reports.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the periodic analysis of project performance.<\/li>\n<li>Work collaboratively with the Finance Manager Expenditure Requests.<\/li>\n<li>Document good practices and achievements to ensure proper visibility of the project.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise project staff and ensure that planned tasks and activities are executed consistent with project objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and evaluate staff performance. Evaluate capacity building needs and support the professional development of team members.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the implementation of staff training. Support operational staff in the implementation of activities (e.g., supervision, training)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of Master\u2019s degree in Public Health, Health Management, or related discipline, or clinical degree in Medicine or Nursing.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 8 year\u00b4s professional experience in health management<\/li>\n<li>Professional level of technical or managerial knowledge, skills, and experience to manage the operational activities of a unit or team, provide the technical and management support related to various size programs, grants or projects.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with bilateral and\/or multilateral donors and familiarity with their procedures and practices; experience with USAID is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing and\/or collaborating with donor-funded award implementing partners.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in program coordination and international public health projects in developing countries, particularly in implementing and managing projects, consultants, set realistic priorities, and plan for the successful implementation of TB programs.<\/li>\n<li>Professional level of technical or managerial knowledge, skills, and experience to manage the operational activities of a unit or team, provide the technical and management support related to various size programs, grants or projects.<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing and\/or collaborating with donor-funded award implementing partners.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain positive working relationships with and among project staff, subcontractors, consultants, and recipients of assistance required.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated knowledge of the USAID rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as they relate to project and program compliance and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent oral and written communication skills in English additional local language proficiency preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in producing results, solving problems and making informed decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in performance monitoring, tracking data quality, data management, and\/or training in performance management topics.<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communications skills required.
