{"id":57961,"date":"2020-10-07T09:38:28","date_gmt":"2020-10-07T07:38:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=57961"},"modified":"2020-10-06T18:43:06","modified_gmt":"2020-10-06T16:43:06","slug":"interactive-research-and-development-south-africa-ird-sa-npc-job-vacancy-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/interactive-research-and-development-south-africa-ird-sa-npc-job-vacancy-4.html","title":{"rendered":"Interactive Research and Development South Africa (IRD SA NPC) Job Vacancy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Interactive Research and Development South Africa (IRD SA NPC) is a South African Section 21 not-for-profit entity and an affiliate of Interactive Research and Development Global (IRD Global), and has fully operational offices in Johannesburg (Gauteng), Pretoria (Tshwane) and in Durban (KwaZulu-Natal).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Pharmacist (Pharmacovigilance)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Johannesburg<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> Fixed term contract<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong> Technical Team Lead<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the position:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate Pharmacovigilance clusters in the province.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate and coordinate training in Pharmacovigilance in the provinces.<\/li>\n<li>Establish Pharmacovigilance centers and committees in the province<\/li>\n<li>Communicate Pharmacovigilance matters with the NPC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Responsibilities(included but not limited to):<br \/>\nEstablish and Coordinate Pharmacovigilance (Phv) Clusters in the province: 10%<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that monthly meeting take place and give feedback to National Pharmacovigilance Centre (NPC) and Provincial DOH.<\/li>\n<li>Arrange for revisit to PhV clusters to monitor the PhV process and progress.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and attend to PhV clusters not reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain existing clusters and establish new clusters.<\/li>\n<li>Represent Pharmacovigilance at the provincial Pharmaceutical Therapy Committee (PTC).<\/li>\n<li>Ensure feedback from national to province.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Facilitate and Coordinate training in Pharmacovigilance in the province: 30%<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that hospitals\/clinics have adequate supply of ADR forms.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with health care professionals to ensure that ADR forms are properly completed.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare orientation of new committee members.<\/li>\n<li>Advise on the collection and submission of ADR reports from all the facilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Perform Pharmacovigilance activities on targeted data collection: 30%<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide mentorship visits on ADR reports.<\/li>\n<li>Provide support to sites where reporting is challenged.<\/li>\n<li>Retrieve reports and perform retrospective data collection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ensure verification of data captured at NPC: 20%<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in managing shortfalls in data of ADR forms and provide technical guidance.<\/li>\n<li>Compare raw data against info captured on database periodically.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Communicate Pharmacovigilance matters with the NPC: 10%<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communicate between Clusters NPC and Provincial DOH.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure Pharmacovigilance reporting and feedback to and from cluster and NPC.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure feedback from National to Province<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy<\/li>\n<li>Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Added advantage would be any of the following qualifications:<br \/>\nDesirable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge and experience of the application of the Medicines and Related Substances<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Act, 1965 (Act 101 of 1995) and quality, safety and efficacy of medicines and\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pharmacovigilance<\/li>\n<li>Sound clinical knowledge in HIV and TB as well as the medication to treat the conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Experience &amp; skills:<br \/>\nPersonal qualities &amp; Behavioural competencies<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good communication skills (written and verbal)<\/li>\n<li>Good planning and organisation skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good report writing and presentation skills.<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal relations.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a team<\/li>\n<li>Innovative thinking, initiative and leadership qualities.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with dedication and accuracy<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy is essential (e.g: Ms office, Spreadsheets and experience in\u00a0Using e-mail)<\/li>\n<li>Must be willing to travel and work irregular hours.<\/li>\n<li>A valid driver\u2019s licence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested candidates are welcome to apply, please provide two (2) current, relevant employment references.
