Once agreements are reached, the successful investor pays for Vumelana\u2019s services that made the deal possible. Vumelana uses the fees recovered from the investor to help build leadership and management capability in the Community Institution on whose land the development takes place.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Junior Bookkeeper<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Woodmead, Sandton.<br \/>\n<strong>Employment Type:<\/strong> 6 month fixed term contract.<br \/>\n<strong>Report to:<\/strong> Finance Manager.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Initiate cash withdrawals and internal funding transfers<\/li>\n<li>Pay suppliers and service providers on time, against budgets, contracts and authorised invoices\/orders where appropriate as per agreed processes<\/li>\n<li>Prepare monthly reconciliations and expense summary schedules<\/li>\n<li>Maintain personnel files<\/li>\n<li>Process accounting and financial reporting transactions (capture monthly entries into Pastel cashbook; reconcile Pastel cashbooks to bank account; record accurate revenue transactions; prepare and process monthly journals and finalise the General Ledger and Trial Balance)<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and update the fixed asset register \u2013 process depreciation<\/li>\n<li>Prepare quarterly aggregated TB<\/li>\n<li>Prepare annual VAT apportionment expense schedules &#8211; update monthly<\/li>\n<li>Assist Finance Manager and auditors with annual audit<\/li>\n<li>Support the Finance Manager in preparation of budgets and forecasts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant accounting or bookkeeping diploma\/degree<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 5 years bookkeeping experience in this role (general bookkeeping function up to trial balance).<\/li>\n<li>Competencies:\n<ul>\n<li>High levels of computer literacy (MS Office in particular Excel, Accounting Software e.g. Sage Pastel)<\/li>\n<li>Strong accounting knowledge<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail, meticulous<\/li>\n<li>Excellent analytical and numeric skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organisational skills, prioritise and plan well<\/li>\n<li>Strong administrative and planning skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please send your CV to <strong><a href=\"mailto:reply@vumelana.org.za\">reply@vumelana.org.za<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application\u00a0<\/strong><b>Deadline:<\/b>\u00a0Friday, 23 October, 2020<\/p>\n<p>Only short listed candidates will be contacted.
